I'd prefer pass since this is Football/Basketball/Hockey season. In baseball season throw or pitch is acceptable.

But the real response is...

Poker is easy.

or Pkr iz ez if you are 10 tabling.

Re: The great phrase \"Nice Catch\"

"What catch? Oohhhhhhhhhh, you mean the huge fish I just reeled in, THANKS!! She was a beaut'!"

And when the guy inevitably comes back with 'yeah, just keep chasin', i throw in a:

"Man, I shoulda taken a picture for the guys back at the lodge, they're never gonna believe me!!"

just for extra needling effect

Or "nice calldown" usually works just fine.

Re: The great phrase \"Nice Catch\"

I generally launch into some kind of sarcastic tirade about how I didn't realize I was playing against Phil Ivey and Barry Greenstein under assumed names and such (especially since we are at the Party $1/$2 table and such).

Or I start begging for lessons. And I don't let up. For an entire orbit of the button.

Mainly because if the guy is burnt enough about the catch to say nice catch, I gotta believe that I can set him into super tilt if I am persistent.

Re: The great phrase \"Nice Catch\"

Instead of "nice catch," I usually say "nice snatch, pussy."

I usually just say, "It really was, wasn't it?!?"

Funny, I rarely hear it but tonight someone told me nice catch when I rivered my flush w/ TPGK.

Edit: the only time I ever responded I told a guy he could see the replay later on Sports Center.

if you want them to feel that you're totally clueless, a simple "ty" works very well.

Yea well I had sex with your wife.

In all honesty, I usually type in "DONT TRY AND BLUFF ME DUDE ILL CATCH YOU" whenever I suck out on someone who had the best hand, it usually sends them into a rage.

Re: The great phrase \"Nice Catch\"

well obviously - 'thank you'

often both abbreviated to 'nc' and 'ty' ...

I don't think saying 'nc' means the guy is especially liable to tilt - if you're going to say anything at all after getting sucked out on 'nc' is pretty much at the bottom end of tilt indicators (maybe one up from 'nh').

Best practice is just to stay silent of course..

Now is someone starts ranting that you are a fish, then you have a much wider and more amusing array of responses at your disposal - one of my faves being 'and you just paid for my new tank, thanx'

Re: The great phrase \"Nice Catch\"

When I had my game there was a gal that would stay in and sometimes bet out (many times with gut shots) and catch catch catch. Alot of comments were made about these "catches" sometimes more severe than "nice catch."

Her reply was always "I had a feelin."

It led to mocking that statement everytime an unusal suckout occured...

Another oldtimer sucked out quite a bit too and thought it was the funniest thing to do it. He'd say "See,I can get even anytime I want"

I still think about that, but online all I ever say is "ty"
