Is good blackjack on its last legs?

I read an article about a player tracking device called "MindPlay" that is being marketed to casinos. It can scan what cards are played and the chips on the table. Then it figures out what advantage/disadvantage the player is playing at.

This means card counters can be easily found out and barred, shuffled up on, etc. It also means you can't take advantage of comps by playing basic strategy as talked about in the book Comp City. (The pit boss normally just estimates how good the players to be comped are and he can underestimate the player if the player just uses basic strategy. But with these new devices, they know just how much your losing rate is).

mindplay has been around for several years but hasn't been selling very well. and CSM's don't have an impressive market share either, especially outside of vegas.

the main killer has been the 6:5 single deck games.

I heard about that too but the glory days of BJ are all but over today. Poker is about all there is left.

And yet people are more than happy to play the game. They ask what 6/5 means, I tell them and they sit right down and play. Most people don't even care about the house percentage. The casinos will continue to widen their edges as long as the public stays happy and stupid and allows them to get away with it.

Was recently in Vegas.
Killed the flamingo game one night with the mind play going.
Was reluctant to spread heavy, as I thought I would be made fast, but just the oposite. They comped me expensive show tix, suit, and full RFB. That crap (mind play) realy slows down the game.
