Another High Roller (Stuey) ???
 

Was the man in his hotel room throughout the movie supposed to be representing his conscience (or perhaps his maker)? Then at the end when he lead Stuey out the door, it represented his death?

I understood it as such, which I thought added a unique and pretty kewl twist.

Honestly, this isn't any type of attack response, but it completely surprises me any time someone starts a thread dedicated to picking apart such an awful movie.

Honestly, this isn't any type of attack reply to what you stated was not any type of attack response. However, it completely surprises me any time someone makes it a point they are not flaming you when we all know they really are.

Whether the movie was awful or not is irrelevant and was not even proposed as part of the thread. Unfortunately, there will always be those such as yourself who find it necessary to find the negative in everything.

Trying to find the marvel in the ordinary is a much easier way to go through life. You oughta try it some time.

Reply to the subject or don't reply at all is a better avenue to take.

I'm not flaming you. I'm mostly expressing my disappointment at the movie after waiting so long for it to finally be produced. I thought it was a great idea to make a movie about Stuey, and just felt like this one fell flat in a big way. And that's why it surprises me.

And I don't find the negative in everything - only things that truly suck.

Understood. I was somewhat disappointed with the overall production as well.

However, if indeed the man Stuey was talking with in the hotel room throughout the movie was to represent his maker, then I thought that particular twist in the movie was pretty kewl. That's all.

He basically represented the grim reaper. I didn't think it was that hard to pick up on that theme since it was used in "It's A Wonderful Life" and "Meet Joe Black" just name a couple.

I think it's always hard to watch a drug and gambling addict piss away their life. It's really hard to write a screen play about a guy like that and still make the audience care about him.

See, I disagree. If this movie was made by a major production company, and maybe rewritten to include the interesting aspects of Stuey's life, and maybe if Vince Van Patten was taken out... well then they could have made a good movie about it.

Incidentally, VVP was on Opie and Anthony (satellite radio) and was very funny and cool, not the douche he always seems like...

...at the credits (duh!)...

...the man was listed (in the order of appearance) just after Stuey in the credits as "the stranger" played by Michael Pasternak.

2+2'er Vee Quiva hit the nail on the head when he picked up on the same theme as appeared "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Meet Joe Black".
