Bet/Fold on River or Bet/Call?

Hero is UTG with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

No reads on any players. Table seems pretty loose passive in 2 orbits.

Full Tilt: 2/4 table, 9 handed

Preflop: Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, MP calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls

Flop: (14 SB) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, MP calls, CO raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, MP folds, CO calls

Turn: (14 BB) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets, CO calls

River: (16 BB) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero bets, CO raises, Hero calls out of spite

CO shows A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Should this have been a bet/fold, or was I ok to call here?

You play goot.

Villian = buddy list.

I think bet call is the right line. When CO raises the flop you should put him either on a draw, an over pair or a pair on the board. The turn may have completed his draw but he doesn't seem too excited about it. Its hard to imagine he has an 8 and it looks like a bad bluff attempt. I call every time and expect to win often.

edit -

I looked at it again and it looks like you might be up against a flush. I check/call the river. You are going to get raised only when you are beat but a check might induce a bluff from a weaker hand. This of course assumes that you have no reads on villian being the worst player at the table.

IMO, Bet/call here DEFINATELY. I certainly think check/call is missing value from a lot of smaller pairs. So what if he showsdown an 8. Long term you are making good money off him.

I would check call river. Maybe I play hands like this too weak, but when someone raises with two hearts on the flop (and nothing else too exciting on the flop), calls the turn, and then another heart comes on the river, I definitely put a made flush at the top of the list of range of hands.(esp with no stats on the player)

I would have check/called looking for a flush. The guy has something and a lot of times fish will wrongly play a flush draw heavy against 1 player.

Hands like this suck but . . . . long run good, short run sucks.

Not betting this river is a "crime against humanity".

really, any 7, and PP, probably even a 5 will call you. easy easy river bet, and easy calling getting about 1000-1

Check/call seems weak to me.

I would bet/call, although it looks like a flush.
don't post results, and cut the action off where you have the question.
