books for poker players who want to play black jack

i'm a reasonably good low-limit (5/10) poker player with a very solid win rate. I'm very good at math and want to learn how to play black jack. i've read like 15 books about poker so reading isn't something that i'm adverse to. could anyone suggest a book or sequence of books i could read in order to give myself a crash course.

To learn to play BJ? or to play with an edge? If your just looking to learn basic strategy, you really don't need a book, go to: http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php

If you're wanting to count cards, 1st you have to decide on a system...hi/lo, KO, etc. and then get the book devoted to that system. Professional BJ by Wong for hi/lo. KO book for that, etc.

After learning basic strategy, mastering your count system, get BJ Attack by Don Schelesinger(sp?).

Beyond that, not much more to learn, other than just reading other notable author's, if you so desire.

basic strategy is available for free online at numerous sites. a good place to get customized charts and practice your skills is www.blackjackinfo.com

if you want something physical to read that is accurate but not too complicated, you might consider Basil Nestor "Smarter Bet Guide To Blackjack" ($5) or Steve Bourie "American Casino Guide" ($10 on amazon with LOTS of valuable casino coupons).

just knowing basic strategy will make you better than 99% of the people who play blackjack in B&M casinos. if you think there are a lot of fish at the poker tables, then you ain't seen nothin yet (to bad you can only play WITH them, not against them).

beyond basic strategy, I would recommend these books in order:
- Blackjack Bluebook II, Fred Renzey
- Knock-Out Blackjack, Vancura and Fuchs
- Professional Blackjack, Stanford Wong

"Blackjack Attack" by Don Schlesinger is not really an instructional text, rather a compendium of statistical information for the already experienced card counter. it's fantastic for people who want to know the "why" rather than "how" of advantage blackjack play.

Just started myself but 2 excellent books,
- KnockOut Blackjack
- Black Belt in Blackjack

KO is a variation of Red Seven. The philosophy of both authors really coincides with my own beliefs. That is, maximum profits with minimum efforts. They're both level one, unbalanced counts with few indices. Yet they capture most of the profits available in the more complicated systems.

These two systems are really some of the easiest one around. Or so I hope.

I second the recommendation for Snyder's Blackbelt in Blacjack. Haven't read KO...

Professional Blackjack is an excellent book, and useful for extracting the absolute maximum edge but it requires remembering countless charts. Overwhelming at first glance!

I think your far better off buying KO. The count is MUCH easier to use, and they recommend you only bother with the top 18 plays that deviate from basic strat.
Plus you can keep your eyes off the discard tray with an unbalanced count which really helps with your cover.

Are there any blackjack books out there that discuss tracking aces, key card sequencing, looking for the dealer exposing their hole cards, etc?

you can try the RGE catalog first, and then maybe see if you can get those titles cheaper on amazon.
