boat vs. tag on river

Villain appears to be TAG over a little over 20 hands. My image at the table is pretty laggy, possibly overextending too much on later streets. Speaking of which:

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, Button calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (8.40 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
BB checks, UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button calls, BB folds, UTG calls.

Turn: (5.70 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button calls, UTG calls.

River: (8.70 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, UTG folds, <font color="#CC3333"> Hero?

Final Pot: 16.70 BB

I was expecting the pop or fold on the river, since a TAG is so unlikely to just call down with much here.

How does the fact that I will never fold to a cap in this situation affect my decision?

Your read is useless over 20 hands.

3bet and never fold to a cap.

3, youre way too likely to be ahead. I'd be praying for a cap.

There are exactly two hands that beat you. You should be disappointed there is a headsup cap.

Good to hear it isn't even close. This hand left me wondering how much value was in my 3-bet, considering

1) I will get capped 100% of the time when beat and
2) Call 100% of the time when capped

1) isnt correct. Many people overplay trip aces.

Read it again both 1 and 2 are correct.

To the OP, while it will be capped every time you're behind and you will always call in this situation there are many other hands that cap as well. I can't see somebody with AQ or AJ not capping here. Already that means that when it's capped you are still more likely ahead. Add to that that some people will cap A2 and your pt numbers don't mean anything on this guy and you are very likely ahead here. To not want to 3 bet you would have to be very likely behind given a cap and/or have him not call with hands that beat you. He's probably got an ace and most of those are good for you. 3 bet away.

A 3-bet/cap should be automatic in a hand like this.
