How does everyone here deal with wife girlfreind etc. I have a tough time.

My girlfriend and I are both strong against gambling. However, I have explained to her that although poker is gambling, for me it is gambling with a positive expectation. Therefore, we agree that I can play poker and that neither of us will gamble with a negative expectation.

As for other issues, when I am with her, I make a concientious effort not to mention poker or to think about poker. I make my best effort to show her that I want to be with her. I have also made her promise to keep an eye on my poker play and to monitor any possible addiction. I told her that I "am 100 times more committed to her than to playing poker." This after reading heartwrenching remarks from other posters.

In short, she is way ahead of poker on my priorities list. That's how I deal with it.

I seem to play/do better when things are going smoothly with my girlfriend. Sometimes a phone call going good or bad can affect my game for a round or two before I try to clear my mind altogether.

Thanks for your input guys but my girl/ fiance dont buy it. she waiting for a pay day and i keep tellin her i ainnt good enough.

She good to me in everyway possible thats why we getting married. She just dont know poker.

Are you a pro or do you have some other job? Unless you do it for a living, you should just tell her it's your hobby and you play mainly for fun.
