Dual DVI Video Card

I have two 2001FP monitors and am looking for a video card that has two DVI out connectors... Anyone know of a respectable place where I could find one reasonably priced?

This depends a lot on the type of video card you will be using. For newer motherboards you will be using PCI express. Older motherboards will require AGP. Even older boards may even demand PCI.

For AGP I'd recommend the Matrox P650 video card. It's what I purchased and it has worked fine. It will drive to 2001FP's at 1600x1200 in digital mode just fine. However, it's not a 3d card so if you're a gamer, another card may suit you better.

I don't really have any experience with PCI express so it's hard for me to make a good recommendation. I know there are plenty of cards on the market which have dual DVI. But I don't know which ones are capable of running dual screens at 1600x1200 full digital.

Newegg has giant listing if dual DVI cards which can be found here .

Can't you just get a DVI splitter/adapter that plugs into the DVI connection on your graphics card
and splits into 2 DVI female acceptance plugs?

I bought 1 for $5. and plan on plugging it into my card and then plugging in my 2 LCD monitors...

Haven't done this yet, will it work?

You'll have the same image twice this way. That would be good for doing a presentation using a projector on each end of the room, for instance, but not good for what (I suspect) you want to do.

I came into this forum to make a post exactly like this (I plan on building a computer in...awhile).

This makes me realize I know nothing about video cards. Damnit.

I highly recommend the 6600 (6600GT if you want a kick) for a nice budget dual DVI video card. I bought mine at just about $100 at Newegg.com, which has very fast processing times and shipping.
