home game blind structure?

i play home games about 3 times a week and noticed that we havent been doing it right. mostly we just raise the blinds when someone is knocked out but i have always said to put time limits on the blinds.. cause when its late in the game or heads up the blinds are no where near high enough to make a difference. we usually play with about 6 players max so by the time we're heads up the blinds are only like 5-10 and we start off with about 200 in chips each! so my ? is.. whats the best blind structure to play with? every 15 min/half hour raise the blinds? and o what denominations should we raise them bye? thank you

i have a game every week with 7-10 regulars. we started the same way but realized that a game would last all night, and many did. now we all start with 4500 in chips and raise the blinds every 15 minutes. start at

25-50
50-100
150-200
200-400
300-600
400-800
500-1000
800-1600
we cap it at 1500-3000 when we are under 10 ppl.

hope this helps

we generally double up every time, but as far as I know what you have presented is the more "proper" way of doing it.
