Was I cheap?
1-2NL NYC FULL RING
I won a 450 pot with AA The guy called with TPNK I tipped the dealer 5$ People critiziced me. Was that cheap? I should have tipped the donkey for calling 450 with a pair of Queens and an 8 kicker. I think 5 was enough. Thoughts? |
Re: Was I cheap?
I haven't played in any of these NYC clubs. Are dealers paid anything other than tips?

Re: Was I cheap?
The dealer wasn't responsible for you winning the pot was he? I can only find fault in you not buying the table a round after that

Re: Was I cheap?
Not even close to cheap...I would say you were generous in fact. I would have tossed him $1.

Re: Was I cheap?
If you were critiziced for tipping the deal $5, tell the other players. When you win a pot you can tip them what ever you want, but until you win a pot, don't tell me how to tip. It is your choice to tip, very well or not. I think 5 is a good tip for one hand. MHO

Where were you on Monday?

Re: Was I cheap?
If these guys aren't getting anything other than tips I would probably be inclined to tip them a bit more than I might otherwise.
I don't think $5 is cheap but I probably would have given more. |
Re: Was I cheap?
Those dealers are probobly making 30-40 bucks an hour dealing in those clubs, especially if they get big tips for big pots.
Of course they are also risking arrest, which would suck. |
Re: Was I cheap?
1. I would have tipped a dollar. Then again, I tip a dollar when I openraise from SB and win the BB.
2 However, if you are Alex Rodriguez, then yes, you are a cheap bastard because you made $20M last year. |
