Question about Bodog
 

Does anyone know what year Bodog.com began operation. I know the poker room is new, but does anyone know when the site (sportsbook, etc.) opened? It says 1995 on the website, but I have reason to believe this might not be correct.

Anyone know?

PS: How about putting your question right in the subject? Something like "When did Bodog Start Their Site?" That will save my time, your time, and perhaps the time of some others. Thanks.

write them. i am sure they will tell you.

check help online as well. i found picture galleries of the entire staff while playing in a sNg today. i have played 3 sNg in 3 days and have 2 1st, 1 second. while i am sure that i will now go 10 without a single cash, the structure of the event is nice and paitence pays @ bodog. my favorite site of the week.

I know their official company line is that they have been around since '95. A guy I know claims they haven't and that it's a lie to make them look more reputable. I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

They started out as a Sportsbook only, they did not always go by the name Bodog if I recall. I think they may have been known as thebigbook or something like that? Bottom line, there a reputable site.

I believe that they are a reputable site (as reputable as any site can be I guess). I actually play there a lot. I'm just wondering if anyone has any concrete specifics. I'd like to shut him up if possible.

What makes you think it's incorrect? FWIW, pocketfives.com's review of Bodog also mentioned that it's been open for over 10 years.
