not when you are folding to yourself.

Re: Settle an Argument: Good Fold?

you created this problem for yourself by not raising nearly enough PF. a raise to 35 without the limper is far too limp, with the limper, it's awful. I would say raise to 60 at least, probably 75, depending on whether you had any reads on the limper or not.

Thanks, but you didn't really answer the question...we're trying to settle an argument about the fold.

Yes, you should have raised it to about 75. It gets you out of a lot of situations like the one described (i.e., a lot easier to go to war if you'd raised to 75).

This is the kind of fold I used to make back when I had no idea what I was doing.

Re: Settle an Argument: Good Fold?

You are missing the point here. By min raising with AA you Force all players to call with just about any 2 cards. This is why you are facing the dilema. You can't exclude 2 pair, a lucky straight, a semibluf or this early, just a stone cold bluff. You are blind here. The pot was yours for the taking and now you are faced with folding. Slow playing AA this early in the tournament (plenty of maniacs left) to 4 players is setting yourself up to have to lay it down.

Since you wanted to gamble here you can call or fold. Either way is fine. Don't ask what is the right call when you weren't able to provide any information by raising the proper amount. That is what the proper raise is for.
