KK turns scary on the turn

Villain is 55/0%/20 and seems to be sorta lagish. He calls on the button and I raise. Flop was already sort of scary so I bet the pot to discourage the turn. He smoothcalls and it is the ace. Line?

Re: KK turns scary on the turn

to begin with - pf raise should be 4xBB + 1xBB for each limper.. get it up to at least $2.50 pf.

on this draw heavy flop you need to bomb it - i bet at least the pot, probably overbet it - make them pay for the draw.

i wouldnt be too scared of this A - he limp-called pf, so he might have jack [censored]. i'm better 2/3 or 3/4 of the pot here and reassessing based on his actions.

Re: KK turns scary on the turn

Is the 4xBB pf raise standard or just for select hands? I am of the Harrington mindset that 2x BBraise is sufficient but I am relatively new to the cash games. If I am raising too little I would like to know.

I am usually raising 1.00-1.50 if I am the first in the pot. Am I shortchanging my good hands?

definitely, and letting too many people see a flop. Harrington mindset in that case does not apply to SSNL cash games

dont ever min raise preflop. if u want to raise, use the 4bb+1 per limper as a guideline. do this with any hand u want to raise w/.

on this particular hand if u raise enough preflop, and pot the flop, villian will only have around $4 left and the decision will be very simple...

Re: KK turns scary on the turn

minraising is generally a bad idea, and the 4xbb + 1xbb/limper is pretty standard.

As for the line...I'm torn. I probably bet pot and put this guy all in, but I don't know really. It just seems that your preflop raise probably didn't narrow the field enough for me to assume he has an ace (though his flop call could indicate ace)

Villan is too short, and already has 1/3 his stack in the middle by the turn. Raising more PF helps this problem alot. As played, I think this is a bet/call.

raise like 2.5 pf and stick rest in on flop.
Also are you playing at party? I remember you when I was still at 50s.
