Rules of Thumb for hands to go all-in on
 

I'm looking at guidelines people use to determine when they're willing to go all-in when they're short to medium stacked, both pre and post flop.

E.g. with a short enough stack, go all-in with KQ suited, A9 off, etc. With a medium stack, go all-in with flopped TPTK.

What guidelines do y'all use?

If my stack is less than 10 bb and I am going to enter a pot, I almost always shove my stack in (exception being is if I have 8-9bb and it is folded to me in late position- I may try a 'standard' 3-4 bb raise here). In other situations, I use it to isolate a smaller stack who has gone all in in front of me, or when I feel like I have the best hand and want to protect it from any draws that might still be live.

If my hand warrants putting in a bet or a raise, and a pot-sized bet or raise would commit 1/3 or more of my chips, then I treat all-in as the only viable play.
