Mixed games question
 

If you are running a mixed game, what do you require to be "in the game" when you switch from antes to blinds. Suppose you are playing stud and switch to holdem. The blinds are posted based on the dealer button.

If a player didn't play the last hand of stud, I would guess that the player is considered a "new player" and has to post an extra blind. Is one hand generally considered enough to qualify as "in the game"?

Any other thoughts on how that should work?

No, play it just like normal... in an ante game like stud, there is no "missed blind", since you pay an ante. The player only gets a missed blind button if he misses the blind in a flop game. He/she can completely sit out during the stud round and still be "in" for the flop games (assuming they paid the blind for the last flop game).

Edit.. just thought I'd add...

So, say the person doesn't like Omaha and sat out that round, and therefore, missed the blind. If this was HORSE, the next 3 rounds are all stud games, then it's back to Hold'em. During the stud rounds, the player is "in" as long as he pays the antes during those stud games. However, once it goes back to HE, he has to post a missed blind, or wait til the BB to play.
