2 Hands vs Banzan

Banzan is villian in both hands. If you don't know who banzan is then I don't what to tell ya. I guess you'd have to play against him to understand. He's lag but definitely different.

I'm more concerned about the 2nd hand which could have (should have?) benn played differently. How would you play the turn in that spot? Check? 1/2 pot?

I can't imagine playing the first hand any other way although I don't love the preflop raise.

Hand 2: I would have raised more preflop. Against Bansan even I think you are in trouble most of the time but I would call anyway given your pot odds and the fact that he could have anything.

FWIW, all PFR's by all players got no respect on this table. Raises to $40 would be called in 3 spots frequently, a few times family pots. So I started bumping my pfr to 45.

First hand--standard

Second hand--easy call against banzan

Re: 2 Hands vs Banzan

In hand one I think you made a suspect preflop raise and then hit what I would suspect to be 1 of your possible 2 outs on the turn, if any outs at all. Turn push is automatic but what do you do when anything but a non-spade jack hits and Villain leads out whcih he will do 99% of the time?

I don't know the Villian in hand 2 but against most players I only fear QJ but then again I am probably only ahead of maybe AT since you have ace of clubs. I think you just have to take your lumps there and maybe next time tone down your turn bet since there is not much in terms of implied odds there and you make it very tough for worse hands to call.

Re: 2 Hands vs Banzan

Hand 1, good..
Hand 2... I'm not sure what you can put him on that's not QJ [maybe of clubs].

Seems like, given the drawy board and the big pot, he would have raised the flop w/ a set or two-pair, and you're reeking of strength here, so a bluff seems unlikely.

The only hands that seem reasonable are QJ, maybe AT, and maaybe an oddly played set/two pair.

With 3:1 pot odds on the call, it's hard to say, but I'd probably reluctantly call.

Re: 2 Hands vs Banzan

Hand 1: Banz had 88

Hand 2: Banz had QJ

I think I should have found a fold in hand 2. Does anyone play the turn any differently at all?
