Let the a-hole get stomped?
 

I was at the Misfit's yearly Halloween show, it was pretty sick, I always enjoy seeing them live.

Anyways, during the first band, there was this guy, ~6'3", 200 or so pounds. Long thick hair, metal head type you would expect to see at a Gwar or Nile show.

The first band is playing, Rock City Morgue, they sound pretty tame in comparison to the next 2 bands playing (Balzac and Misfits, not really heavy per say, but in comparison are)

While they are playing, this dude has his arm up in the air, flicking the lead singer the bird; his hand no more than 3 feet away from his face. People in the crowd are getting pretty pissed at this dude, who is just in general making everything uncomfortable. In a little bit, cups of ice are getting thrown at this guy, and one time a lit cigarette. Concert security doesn't mind this, they are looking for an excuse to kick this a-hole out.

A girl, who obviously doesn't like this guy, starts a small pit. Not really to dance or anything, but just basically just randomly runs into this bastard, and tries to aggitate him. After some time he has enough, and throws the girl off him, she hits the floor pretty hard. It is now where the girls 2 guy friends come in, throw this guy to the floor and they all start stomping/kicking him, mostly in the face.

Out of the corner of your eye, you notice security sees this, but it will be another 5 or 6 seconds before they get around the barricade and through the crowd. This is the excuse security is looking for to kick this guy out, and as soon as they break it up, he'll be sent out. You are right next to this attack, what's your play?

EDIT - band was from New Orleans if that sways any opinions, I felt it did at the show.

do nothing otherwise you risk getting stomped or tossed.

no need for anyone to get hurt and he'll have to leave afterwards anyway.

I would break it up if I could be reasonably sure that doing so wouldn't result in me getting sucked into a fight.

Since I doubt that could be true in the situation you described, I would probably just ignore it.

The guy is obviously a tool but there is no need for him to get stomped to the point of serious injury. But, by trying to break it up you risk yourself getting hurt or if seen by security as involved, get booted yourself. Unless it is someone you care about down there or you feel you are liable if you do not help, self-preservation comes first, Leave it to security to handle.

Did you go to the concert by yourself? Is there anyone else around that is attempting to break the fight?
If you are by yourself, the situation could turn bad for you and you could be sucked in the fight.

I stomp the chick for "starting a pit" and trying to piss this guy off and then requiring her friends to kick the [censored] out of the guy when the obvious result happens.

Seriuosly, what did this guy do other than flick off the band before people started throwing [censored] at him and whatnot?

I really didn't think me getting the boot was an issue, security was talking about how this guy was problems, and was just waiting for the right moment for an excuse to kick him out of the show.
