When you look like a maniac
 

Stars 150, barely ITM (43 left I think). I had been noticeably active in the past 2 orbits or so, with two or three allin reraises preflop and such. Legitimate resteal hands, but I look a little suspect.

This guy minraised preflop a couple orbits ago and I pushed allin over him and took it down. I considered a preflop reraise here but didn't like the stack scenario and the ppl left to act. The guy hadnt opened many pots.

I pushed the flop because I refused to believe that he would play a real hand like that against me. There was just no way in my book that he wanted action. I would push all in there with a lot of made or vulnerable hands too.

I got called by 66 and (as you can see) bricked. I mean, can I expect this call? I knew I looked suspicious but I could have so many hands there that I really hate the call on his part FWIW. Like, I'd expect to see a flush draw at the very least.

Heres what I want to know: was he just not a thinking player, or did I get totally owned?

PS I'm having a problem lately (read: past few months) playing "solid" poker. I really can't stand to play tight standard poker because I feel like anyone with half a brain can do it, and I can't possibly have a real advantage over this field by just playing like everyone else. Maybe it's made me try too force to many plays, but it's hard to learn unless i [censored] up. So if you see some retarded LAG stuff, bear with me.

Honestly I think you owned yourself. Pushing 18k into a 4k pot reeks of "semibluff flush draw" in many people's mind. Why not raise here to 3k-4k instead? Or call and take away from him on the turn. admittedly 66 is a little weak here but I think a pair of eights might call there also. A 2.75x potsize raise/a 22x raise of the flop bet, doesn't look like you're betting for value.

That was a weak bet on his part, but your bet does look suspicious. I would have raised him to ~3K based on that weak bet, and hope he makes another donk bet or checks into my turn so I can fire out again.

He could be one of those players that is "unbluffable" when holding a pair no matter the board though, so that might not work either.

i watched that hand, and i just think it was a bad move after the events before it

you did re-raise all-in i think twice before pre-flop, not to mention a fair amount of flop bets/etc., you were very very active in the 2 orbits preceding this hand

especially on a 2-flush board .... you get looked up a lot here i think

I can't make his call. But, overbets can be interpretted in so many different ways. I like bullying people like that moreso on the bubble rather than ITM.

I wouldn't say you got owned. The call was marginal on his part... on the other hand, there's aboslutely no way I'd give you credit for a real hand here, and my only concern with calling is that if you have x [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]x [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], with x&gt;6, you have enough outs to make you a favorite in the hand.

A normal raise would've been a lot more believable, and a fold even better considering, like you said, that you've been very active recently and any sign of action on your part now will be taken with a huge grain of salt. That's a great time to switch gears and not bluff, then make that kind of an overbet with the nuts... or something close.
