$11: Do you always go broke here?

This might be one of my leaks. I tend to not fold big hands early in the $11s because so many people do not know what they're doing. Maybe I'm the one that doesn't know what they're doing..?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter

Re: $11: Do you always go broke here?

Nope. With fewer players than yea probably, but with 4 callers behind me I probably start thinking that someone has a set and one of those four guys has to have me beat. I also think that this is the very beginning of the tourney, I have a healthy stack and I could still do fine in this tourney. There's a good chance I end up folding this.

yea i would at an 11. i would also bet around 400 on the flop considering the buyin and that fact that basically the entire field is seeing this flop.

No, I would have made sure I won the hand if I was putting my stack in here like you're doing. I don't see any real point in going broke.

(yes, you're fine)

you appear to have had your opponents covered, making going broke impossible.

Even with this being an 11 I'm not sure I would move all in here. Yes I probably would bet more like 400 on the flop, but if it got the same reaction as the 260 did then I think I'm slowing it down. People get hands at the 11's too and with 4 guys calling behind you I think there's a good chance your aces are beat. You know that people would have called any bet in any position with any pocket pair. I'm really expecting the aces to be beat here.

Re: $11: Do you always go broke here?

LMAO. Sometimes you just have to laugh and shake your head and move on to the next hand/tourney. I mean, you raise 4xBB UTG and get 4 callers. LOL! They can't all have monsters.

Then, even funnier, you bet out 3/4th pot or so on the flop and NOBODY folds, not even BB who checked it to you. THEY CAN'T ALL HAVE TRIPS. Clearly you are looking at KKs, QQs, or JJs, or maybe all three. Probably the biggest threat is BB who may have called with 22-TT because of the chips in the pot pre-flop. I'd put him on 88 or TT. There MIGHT be another set in there somewhere. But at least a couple of these guys have overpairs.

Back to the original question, do I go broke? Tough spot, but the correct play is probably to check/fold the turn depending on action. While you are clearly dealing with a couple morons, one of these guys likely has you beat, and even if they don't there is no shame on preserving a decent stack for when it really matters.

Re: $11: Do you always go broke here?

Yes I go broke here probably 100% of the time.

However, I bet 375 on the flop, and call a push.

I also push the turn.

NH, sucks you ran into trips or 2 pair or why ever you posted this hand.
