Anyone use Interactivebrokers or MBtrading?

Hi all:

Looking to start doing some swing trading soon and was wondering if anyone here uses either Interactivebrokers.com or MBtrading.com for similar activity.

I recently opened a Scottrade account but since I"m only starting with about $10K (20K w margin) I'm concerned about the ability to make any early headway at $7/trade when I'm looking for 2-3% profit taking on each transaction.

Obviously paying $1 per side vs $7 per side would be great but it doesnt help if IB or MB is unreliable/bad quotes & fills/ etc.

Anyone have any experience/advice? Thanks. I might post my experiences once I get started for those here who are interested.

Interactivebrokers has a good reputation, you just shouldn't expect much from their customer support. It is designed for knowledgable traders, in need of little hand holding.

I use MB - my only issue is that I can not access it at work due to a firewall. I can, however, view quotes and stuff with the software, just not trade.

IB has web trading features so you can avoid this problem, if you are in a similar situation.

Other than this, I've read they're pretty similar. Although MB won't direct deposit back to your bank - will only write you checks.

(I should move to IB?)
