Party Affiliate Stealing Domain Names
 

Thought I'd point this out to people. It was first mentioned in MTT. Apparently, there is a Party affiliate out there was has registered the domain names for many well known (and some lesser known) players. Guys like Jason Strasser (Strassa), David Cossio (sirio11), and final tableist like Tiffany Williamson and Joe Hachem. If you go to any of those domains you are re-directed to Party using his affiliate code. Very sneaky. Very illegal. I'm not sure what, if anything, these people will do but make sure that nobody signs up through any of those domains (although I'd be surprised if anybody here would do that anyway).

1. This is not stealing, it's squatting.
2. This is not necessarilly illegal, let alone "very illegal"
3. Who the hell is going to type davidcossio.com into their browser and then sign up for PartyPoker?
4. If David Cossio cares, he can pay $4k for an ICANN hearing. Then he can sue the squatter for court fees that he will never be able to collect on.

Squatters suck, but hey, welcome to the internets.

This is against PP affiliate T&C I am sure. Have you emailed affiliates@partypoker.com with his affiliate code and these links?

I have heard people say that using the site name, in any variation is against the affiliate T&Cs. You aren't allowed to have bodogforum.com if you advertise for bodog. They want those names for themselves.

I can actually understand this position, since there is a carryover in many people's minds if the name is too similar, and players would expect the main site to live up to claims by the squatter site.
