When Donks Attack!!

This is just something I have noticed more recently even though I have seen it before I never thought much of it. Its the guy who is sitting at the table telling everyone how bad their play is and how great he is and how he just bluffed you out and on and on. We have all probably seen them and have more than likly crushed them appropriately. I took some exception to one guy last night on Paradise as he criticized everything and everyone and was very rude to all. I am curious how others handle these situations other than just looking for that one moment to stack them with great pleasure. I sometimes find myself distracted by that goal and focus on them whenever I am in a pot with donks like that and may forget that others are in as well. Does anyone else have this little problem or distraction?

I don't even acknowledge them, the only time i have anything to do with donks (when im not being one!) is when they suck out on me or anyone else, and even then all i do is type "nh".

If this is distracting you, you should work on taking your ego out of the game.

There is the possibibility that he is a better player than you.
Even if you are the better player, you are unlikely to beat him more than 60% of the time.

I'd evaluate him on how he plays, not what he says.

We're all donkeys.

I play horribly against these people.

Learning to play a pretty standard game with calculated deviations from standard play is key to becoming a good poker player. Frequently overadjusting to situations like the one you described is a pretty common problem.

I think I might just go with the chat off. That seems to be the most logical solution. Its just something that has been eating at me lately and wanted to see if others have this same problem.

Chat off probably best option.. I like the chat on though if anyone's striking up some funny or good comments, or if I know anyone on the table.. I do kinda get distracted sometimes and make it my personal mission to knock the guy out, which is a detriment to my game.

1. Evaluate his PLAY, not his prose.

2. Maybe push a little when in position to see for yourself, esp. to CONFIRM your read.

3. Just turn off his stupid chat & put on the iPod!

Shut off their chat. Worrying about him is probably going to hurt your game.
