Fold or Push: A Tough Decision
The BB is a maniac.
Seat2 plays ABC poker. Seat2:( $357.30 ) Gugel:( $676.65 ) BB:( $518.20 ) Dealt to Gugel [ 8d 7d ] in the SB Seat2 makes it 8. Folds to me. Gugel calls [$6]. BB raises [$16]. Seat2 calls [$12]. Gugel calls [$12]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ Tc, 5d, Jd ] Gugel checks. BB bets [$70]. Seat2 calls [$70]. Gugel folds. Seat2 smooth calling an overbet got me scared of a higher flush draw/set, hence, the fold. Anyway, what do people think of a push here? |

Re: Fold or Push: A Tough Decision
i've been avoiding lots of high variance plays especially if it probably doesn't increase my win rate much over the long term. i'd need more of a read on seat2 and bb's hand ranges for calling the flop before i bother to contemplate a push. also fold preflop and try to sit on the other side of the maniac.

Re: Fold or Push: A Tough Decision
This is a 6 max hand FWIW.
The hero here has a LOT of equity in this spot. The only disastrous situation would be to push into a set AND higher flush draw. |
Re: Fold or Push: A Tough Decision
put seat2 on a hand range then we can discuss the merits of a push.

Re: Fold or Push: A Tough Decision
push, call, fold in that order.

Re: Fold or Push: A Tough Decision
i generally play the 7d8d for flopped SF value only, so i muck this 1 pretty fast.
