Dental Hygiene order of operations - a poll.

I just realized that none of these products have "order of operations" instructions on them.

Does it even matter?

Floss, Brush, Mouthwash or Brush, Floss, Mouthwash would be best..

I'd say you want mouthwash last because it leaves strongest taste in your mouth for good breath.

You don't want floss last because the point of flossing is to get anything out from on/between your teeth and then washing it out.

Leaves you the two options I listed.

Agreed.... mouthwash has to come after floss... although, the taste of mouthwash is fairly powerful and I don't like it much. I usually wash out the mouthwash taste with some water.

One could make a case for brushing last, since toothpaste usually taste better than mouthwash.

Or maybe if I buy some of that yummy looking Listerine from that commercial where the kid can't wait to use the mouthwash cause it's so yummy.

Brush to get most of the crap out. Floss to get remaining crap. Mouthwash to rinse crap and provide added protection.

wait why would one use mouthwash first. this does not follow. it is used for rinsing. therefore it is to be used last, you filthy savages! explain yourselves.

At the dentist they always clean your teeth first then floss. At least mine does anyways. So I've always done it in that order. I'm a little strange though cause I do a little bit of water + mouthwash first, then full mouthwash at the end to rinse.

water + mouthwash, brush, floss, mouthwash.

I use mouthwash first because I vaguely remember some Listerine commercial showing mouthwash helping to break [censored] up so when you brush more comes off. I think that's what it was.
