Flopped top trips no kicker

10 handed PP 1/2

MP1 is a maniac, very aggressive even with nothing.
MP2 is aggressive, slightly loose (35VPIP), usually has something but will sometimes bet scary boards.

Hero in BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG, UTG+2, MP1, MP2 all call, Button raises, SB calls, Hero calls, all limpers call

Flop (14 SB)

SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 bets, MP2 raises, Button folds, SB folds, Hero...?

I was going for a check-raise of the button here, do I 3-bet? There's a bet (albeit from maniac who likely has nothing) and a raise, into the preflop raiser. I could see MP2 having a spade draw, though.

I realize that calling preflop here is questionable.

Obviously you should be folding this hand preflop, however since you didn't I'll throw in my $.02.

I think you're in a tough spot on the flop. I'd probably call the flop and bet the turn as long as a scare card doesn't fall.

lol... Funny preflop.

Anyhow, I call here and then check/raise the turn to a non-spade i think.

Bet the flop.

Re: Flopped top trips no kicker

I'd three-bet the flop, to try and get the pot head up against the raiser, and to try and take control of the hand. If he caps, call it, then check/call the turn and the river, barring running spades.

If he just calls your three-bet, lead out on anything but a spade.

You have no kicker and you're trying for a check-raise? This is a catastrophe, because now it's two bets back to you because one of those people has a King or they're both bluffing. How can we tell? We don't. You should have bet out to proteect your hand.

Calling preflop is ugly. K2o is an awful hand, especially against a raise (even half price) and against so many. That being said, you got incredibly lucky with this flop. I would bet this out. The one person you figure will bet would be Button, and if you C/R him then you'll blow away the hands you have in bad shape. As it played, I would go ahead and 3-bet in your position. The likelihood of someone holding the last K is very slim. Lead the turn. If MP2 raises again on a turn blank, I might begin to consider him holding the last K.

grunching.
I 3-bet here, even if someone else has a K, which is unlikely, our kicker may not ever come into play, du to a pair on the board, or overs to the other guys K come out. The raise could be a flush draw, the original raiser could have QQ, AA, JJ, and thinks that since there are two kings out that you don't have one. I vote 3-bet here.

CLEAR fold preflop!
Bet the flop, why would you want to checkraise this flop when button raised?
Only hands you have beat will fold, flush draws will come no matter what you do.

It's better to bet the flop, 3-bet a raise and lead the turn, or just call the raise and donkbet the turn. Some people love to keep you honest if you donkbet the turn, but would fold if you 3 bet and lead. Standard is to 3-bet though if you don't have this read.
