i think the issue would be that, yes the books burn. but the paper won't last long. and the brick wall and high celings would prevent the building from actually going dowin in flames.

apparently not. Common sense would tell me that open space and non-flamable materials would be non-condusive to a fire, I could be wrong.

Anyway, books don't burn very easily, there isn't a lot of oxygen between the pages.
