Why do people prefer to play Limit rather to NL when Bonus Whoring?

Re: Whoring

I'm not sure if there's a difference in rake structure, but it may just so happen to be that most people are more comfortable with their limit game. I know I personally reserve NL play for tourneys. I'm sure other people have different responses for this though.

1. I am better at limit
2. I can usually play more hands/hr at limit

Definately the number of hands is a factor. Limit people can do 8 tables plus, whereas NL 4 is pretty tough.

1. Less Variance
2. Easier to Multi-table.

It depends on the requirements for clearing the bonus.

If it is ANY raked hand, then I prefer NL, because even a .05 raked hand at NL25 will count.

If it is raked hands > 0.50, then limit is better, because in NL only the pots that are more than $10 will count.

Easier to multi-table and auto-pilot.

Statistically, NL has less variance than limit.

I used to play NL and did not do so well. I found that I could go all in with a really good starting hand like AA or KK and then lose to someone that caught a flush or straight. It was too easy to lose $25.00 on one hand. I prefer limit because I still make mistakes but they are usually not as costly.
