Fold overpair on monotone flop, paired turn?
Have not been at the table long, but villain appears aggressive, and raises pre-flop often, but has not yet shown down a loser. I am dealt K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], and then this happens...
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter MP2 ($49.50) MP3 (Hero)/ ($64.60) CO ($20.75) Button ($10.02) SB ($67.79) BB ($14.50) UTG ($55.85) UTG+1 ($106.90) Villain ($115) MP1 ($83.85) Preflop: SB posts a blind of $0.25. <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.50, <font color="#CC3333">Villain raises to $2.25</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP3 (Hero)/ calls $2.25, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, UTG+1 calls $1.75. Flop: ($7.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> UTG+1 checks, <font color="#CC3333">Villain bets $5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $10</font>, UTG+1 folds, Villain calls $5. Turn: ($27.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Villain checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $15</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Villain raises to $45</font> Hero...? Only comments on what to do now please, I know I should have reraised pre-flop, get over it. Am I ever ahead after that turn card? |
Re: Fold overpair on monotone flop, paired turn?
Reraise Pf. Don't mini raise the flop. With that said,
I check behind on this turn. Keeps the pot smaller, more under control. And with the 9 pairing the board, it becomes a WA/WB situation (villan might have set/2pair and just filled up). As played, I fold. I think you are behind, and you have no redraws (well, the K I guess, but that is a very slim draw). |
