Longest losing streak?
 

What is longest you have gone without placing in a 1 table SitnGo?

At what point do you begin to think that the quality of your play may have been affected or that you are on tilt?

How do you reverse the tailspin?

Just wondering how others deal with what must be a very common situation in this line of work.

My longest losing streak is 12 SNGs. By the way, assume you expect to place in 40% of SNGs. Here is the probability that beginning with your next SNG, that you will have a losing streak of the following lengths:

10: .006 (i.e. expect a streak this long once in 160 tourneys)
12: .002 (i.e expect it once in 500 tourneys)
15: .0005 (expect it once in 2000 tourneys)
20: .000037 (expect it once in 27000 tourneys)

most likely, if you experience a streak of less than 10, it could easily be random chance. If it is more than 12, suspect that you are on tilt.

2 for 26 in the money. 55 nl. both were 3rd's.

I just broke my streak at 10. I was getting nervous. But I can see according to your math that 10 is no big deal and is actually to be expected.

In any case, i dropped down one level and broke my streak. Don't know if the stake had anything to do with it, or if it was just chance.

I am actually in the middle of my worse down swing ever. 3 outers and underpairs have been crushing me for the past week. Basically if you’re losing when you have the best of it you just have to shake it off and tell yourself it will even out over time. I know it gets hard to keep saying that over and over though. So if I was you I would review my hand histories and see if I made the right play and just got sucked out on or if I was playing poorly. Also see how big of a favorite you were in the hands you lost you might be making moves with too small of an advantage late in trny.
