I will play more hands...I will play more hands...

Hey guys.

Poker hated on me two weeks ago, threw me into a 400bb downswing, and I decided to step back down to 3/6 for a couple of weeks to regroup.

I've always had issues playing enough hands short handed. I come from a full ring background, and always hover around a 23/15 instead of the standard 28/20 that I see so many 2+2'ers with.

Only thing is...my 23/15 is including my HU and 3 handed play. Which I think it definitely a leak. Through my first 8K hands back at 3/6 I am a 20/13(no HU or 3 handed played). Which I find scary, and I know I'm missing some places that I should be raising and limping.

So I'm gonna give some examples. What do you guys do in these situations?

In this example, let's assume your average 3/6 6M table:

1 guy who's a 45/16
2 guys who are 35/6
1 guy who's a 15/5
1 2+2'r who's a 25/18
and Me.

Situation 1: You are UTG or MP w/ a pair of 3's. Folded to you(or your action if UTG)

Situation 2: You are UTG or MP w/ QJo

Situation 3: You are UTG or MP w/ K10o

Situation 4: You are on button w/ K9o. MP raises. CO calls. Action on you

Situation 5: You are in CO w/ Q9o. UTG raises, MP calls. Action on you.

I think I might make another one of these w/ blind defense questions as well. But before I do.

What are good Folded SB and BB to steal %'s?

It really shouldn't be that hard to play more hands. If you haven't developed a basic intuition for how various hands will fare against average ranges...I dunno, pay more attention I guess.

Somewhere around 85%, 50%, depends on the stealer of course.

I fold all of these UTG. I raise 2 and 3 maybe half of the time in MP. I'm at around 26/21 at $10/20 for what it's worth.

I don't think these are the kind of hands that you should start playing more in order to get to the "standard" numbers. You talked about blindsteal-situations, that might very well be where you should look instead.

i think its ok to raise it in sits. 1-3, but sits. 4/5 are not playable... not even close. that would be pretty stupid to VP$IP in those spots ... K9o?!

What is your Attempt to steal blinds?

edit: I was at 20/12 my first 10k of 3/6 6max with ASB in low 20s. The next 10k hands I hit 23/16 with a little over 30 ASB, so....

Based on those numbers, i guess Raise, Raise, Raise, Fold, Fold.

I 4 tabled 3/6 6-max for a longgg time and never used stats like that. I just got a feel for the whole tables and sorted them on my screen accordingly. A lot of players will limp if you limp - and that's a good thing if they stink post-flop.

That's the thing. I'm a winning player(about 1.8bb/100). I feel like I have developed that intuition. But I look at my stats and know I have to be missing +EV situations.

I think a more specific way to analyze this stuff is simply to go by # off the button. It's far better ni my opinion, for a number of reasons.
