good stat question, how much greater risk for gays re: hiv

basically its statistics i guess. also AA would like it it seems that blacks males are 5-7 times more likely to be hiv positive than whites (note he would like it only in the sense that it supports his position that he should be able to choose who he associates with, based on risk analysis or whatever). also i am kidding about AA (mostly).

but the case for gay men is pretty clear cut. depending on what percent of population you think gays are, and how accurate gay and hetero hiv rates are,

gays are probably between 50 and 'hundreds'(vague on purpose) times more at risk than straight non iv drug user males.

given this dont u think gays males should be (and in fact are) given 'special attention' re: hiv.

correction also blacks 5-7 times 2

so 10-15 times more likely than whites to be hiv positive (going by new cases for 2002)
