Pot Limit Bankroll

I play Pot Limit Omaha on Poker Stars with blinds (.10 and .25 blinds). I normally buy in for $15-25. I've heard people say you need a bigger bankroll in Omaha than in Hold Em' because of the big swings. What is an adequate bankroll for this level in order to handle the swings.

(i'm sure this has been discussed, but as usually wasn't able to find much with a search.)

Most of us here use 30 buy-ins as the minimum BR - making it $750 for the $25 level.

At PL025 if you play reasonably tight the play is so bad that 20-25 buyins should be fine if you are at all decent. Maybe 30 to move up to 50PLO and a little more for 100. At higher buyins I would set 40-50 as a minimum. I play 200 every once in a while but won't make it my regular game until my PLO bankroll is close to 10K.

These are my bankroll requirements based on my standard deviation at these limits:

$25 PLO - $600
$50 6 Max PLO - $3000
$50 Full Ring - $2000
$100 6 Max - $6000
$100 Full RIng - $5000
$200 6 Max - $15,000 - $20,000 (these games are ultra high variance)
$200 Full Ring - $15,000 - again, lots of aggro players in these games and not quite as likely to get paid off as well with your strong hands.

I almost never follow these guidelines but I am a foul GAA shot taker.

So $200,000+ for 10/20? Omaha rocks.

how well(in terms of BB/100) should you be beating $25 before you consider moving up to $100?

Re: Pot Limit Bankroll

Start taking small shots at the $100 level, buying in for the minimum, or half a full buy in. WR really has nothing to do with it. Just because you can crush the $25 games for 20BB/100 does not mean you will do the same or even win when you play higher.

Man, that really is taking a shot. Buying in that short limits you to making high variance pre-flop plays with maybe another bet if you bought in for half.

If you are crushing the 25, why not move up to the 50, where you can buy in full. That aren't as complete crazies as in the 25s but you will still get a bunch of donkish/lucrative action.

the problem is there is never enough 50s, so when i move up it would be to play both 100s and 50s. i could probably start splitting the 25s and 50s now

What site do you play on? Stars usually has at least two or three $50's going, and you can play 6 max on party. Between the two you generally should have enough, and if there aren't you can always go back to $25.
