What's amazing is I knew it was a trick. I counted the first time and saw 3 going word by word. I counted a second time this time highlighting as I went through I got 3. I then went backwards right to left and that was the only way I could see 6.

on 2nd try, ctrl-f for find, then type in the letter F, and i found 6 [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

me too. i needed the last bit of info. i'm ususally good at these, but this one got me. then i ran it by lorinda (math &amp; logic geek) and she got 3 as well. that's why i posted it.

I only found 3. It's interesting how our brains filter out "unimportant data." Taking articles out of sentences (i.e. "the" and "a") makes the sentence just as understandable. I suppose that's why some languages don't have these types of words. Then again, other languages have long-ass words to compensate.

I counted 5...missed the OF in the last line. I guess I'm almost a genius.

But I also have difficulty reading off a computer screen so I tend to read very slowly and deliberately.

I think the fact that "of" is pronounced "ov" also helps...Most people read it phonetically in their mind and just "listen" for the obvious F's.

this is exactly right. that is what is meant by the statement that the brain cannot process it. even when you stare at it visually, the brain is ignoring it because of the "ov" effect.

If you read the 'words', you'll more than likely see 3 F's........

I you look for the single letter 'F', you'll more than likely see all of them......

I chose to look for the F's.....
