I don't know for sure, but it sounds like party's version of the WCOOP. Just guessing...

Is this a live tournament played somewhere in Europe? Seems kind of pretentious to call it a WSOP with a $5K buyin. They say you have to qualify to play. I assume you can buy in directly.

Yes it is a live European tournament, that always attracts the big European names. It is named the EWSOP because the structure imitates the WSOP ME. It used to be billed as a warm up for the World Series, but now it's more of a standalone event.
