Unintentional humor at its best

Well I dunno about at its best, but it gave me a good laugh.

This poster-type thing was put up on our dorm floor:

Drinking ticket: 200$
DUI citation: 2000$
Something else: $$

Putting other people's lives in danger: [b]Priceless

Guess I should clarify that this was put up by floor management trying to discourage drinking, etc.

Well then it's unintentional humor, since it was not intended to be funny.

It's an unclear message. But unless your point is completely lost on me, I'd say this is one of the most unfunny things I've seen for awhile.

Is this some sort of glamorize/downplay the seriousness of DUI joke? If so, tell it to someone who's lost a loved one needlessly to a drunk driver and see how "priceless" they think it is.

Is the joke that it should say "not putting someone's life in danger... Priceless" but doesn't?

No no, this was put up as a serious sign. This was put up by our floor management trying to discourage drunken driving, etc.

I'm pretty sure "priceless" always has a positive connotation. I'm also pretty sure no one would intentionally say that putting others lives in danger is a positive thing (even if it is).

There is sarcasm occuring in this thread on so many levels that I doubt there is a mortal capable of deciphering it all.

This thread is quite funny, but a lot of people put a lot of effort into it.
