\"oh stacy!\"

So I go to my GFs company xmas party tonight, she is a lawyer and so everyone there was a lawyer. Not a fun time, a bunch of uber snotty rich people being fake nice to each other, and then grilling me about how much I make at poker.

Because im a giant dumbarse I also accepted an invitation to another friends (Stacy) Xmas party that happened to also be tonight (I was unaware of the conflict when I agreed to go) This friend is also the girl I was dating when I first met my GF, because they happen to be really good friends. I dumped Stacy and then started dating her friend like a week later. Obviously lots of drama ensued. But things eventually blew over and now everyone is still friends, except for some weird tension. Stacy still has a thing for me, and my GF knows it, but trusts that I have no feelings for her and isnt worried about anything (I mean did dump stacy for her), but yet all her [censored] yenta divorce lawyer friends keep telling her how messed up it is that we are still friends, and "omg, how can you not be jealous...blah blah blah".

But here is how cool my GF is, I ditch her about 40 minutes into her party (and im sure much gossiping ensued) to meet up with stacy and go to her Xmas party which actually promises to be alot of fun. I get wasted, have a blast and drop stacy off at her hours several hours later. Then decide ill swing by my GFs house on the way home for some booty. Good times right? I get there, we start fooling around, and then right during the middle of her giving me a BJ, I go "oh stacy!". eeeeeeeerrrrrr, the record skips, the house lights come on, and im wondering how the [censored] that even came out of my mouth. I wasnt even thinking about stacy, it just like came out. My gf flips out, starts crying and im just sitting there like a jackass while my dick goes limp. how the [censored] do I even explain that one? I dont even have a good excuse, and the messed up thing is I havent done anythign wrong, yet theres no way in hell shes going to believe that, and pretty much wont trust me now. Eventually I got kicked out, I was to drunk to even figure out a good defense argument [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I figured you guys would at least get a kick out of my misfortune tho. Anyone ever said the wrong name on accident? or had someone call them the wrong name? Any thoughts on a plan of action from here?

once, on a chalet trip, my girlfriend at the time drunkenly said the last name of a friend of mine.

because i secretly hated her, i used this to make her feel terrible, which she should.

I never would have thought so...but it is, because thats what happened.

which is effed up because my only excuse is "I wasnt even thinking about her!!!" which just sounds really retarded and helps my case out zero

Re: \"oh stacy!\"

nah you should have just played it off. She would have been all upset saying why did you call me stacy and then you could have told her she was hearing things and all her friends always complaining about your situation made her believe you said the ex-gf name but shes crazy.

you then would proceed to get all mad if she doesnt just shrug it off and walk out.

she then calls you 5 minutes later talking about oh baby im sorry come back and BAM! best sex you ever had...the make up kind [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

my point is, it would seem that you were indeed thinking about her on some level ... it just happened to be on a level of which you were not consciously aware.

ugh, thats not so cut and dry considering stacy and my GF are friends, and ive actually known stacy for quite a while now, I couldnt just stop being her friend.

I suck at begging too.

As for the subconcious level thinking, hell I dunno, I guess its possible. I think more than likely its just cuz I was totally smashed and my mind was shut down cuz it was an unreal BJ. Im trying to put myself in her shoes and id be pretty upset to, and no way would I believe some lame "uh...I wasnt really thinking about him, it just sorta came out"

Classic.

As to the OP, you are totally and completely assfucked. Say goodbye to those killer BJ's from your girlfriend. I've got absolutely NOTHING to help you. Your girl thinks you were cheating on her, there is nothing you can say to REALLY make her feel any differently (even if she does claim to believe you, it's not true).

So...maybe you don't have to say goodbye to her BJ's, but...this relationship will absolutely never work out long-term...not that it was going to, anyway (you clearly still want Stacy...and that want indicates you're not THAT into your gf).

Re: \"oh stacy!\"

Alobar - this happened to me (I'm sure this has happened to alot of guys). After she stormed out(we were at my place), I just let her cool out and called her the next day, came over with flowers. She eventually understood (after much apologizing) it was some weird residual memory [censored], and it happens. But my ex-gf was also way out of the picture...

Just reassess tomorrow. She'll probably (since she sounds like a cool, level-headed chick) be much less freaked next time you see her.

Hopefully your "Oh Stacy" did not bring out some unpleasant subconscious [censored] and your gf will really start to become bothered / insecure with your friendship with Stacy. If that's the case, all "Oh Stacy" did was speed up something that probably would've come out at some point, anyway.

This isn't going to sound on topic at first, but trust me on this one:

This conversation is going to happen about 1000 times in Las Vegas sportsbooks this week:

BETTOR: Man, I've been waiting in this line for about an hour!

TICKET WRITER: Yeah, we got busy on an NFL Sunday, who'd've thunk it?

BETTOR: Oh, well. Gimme the Jaguars for $100.

TICKET WRITER: (sensing that we've got a newbie on our hands) Here you go, check your ticket, sir.

BETTOR: Wait a minute! Dude, you gave me a ticket on the Jaguars!

TICKET WRITER: Yeah?

BETTOR: I asked for the Colts!

TICKET WRITER: I'll be glad to change it for you, but trust me, you asked for the Jags.

BETTOR: No way! I would never bet on those rat Jags! You're lying! I never said that!

GUY WAITING IN LINE: Dude, you told him Jags.

BETTOR: I did? Really?

I booked in Vegas for years, and saw this scene a million times.

Why did the guy say Jags? The Jags are taking up a huge part of his subconscious. They're the team that can beat him out of $100. They're the only thing standing in the way of an easy win.

I hope that makes you feel better. Sorry, I can't think of how to word it to make your GF feel better, though.

EDIT: I should add, another common response to, "You said Jags," is, "Yeah, I did, didn't I? That's weird. I definitely want to bet AGAINST the Jags, and ON the Colts."

I sure factors that contributed to this were: getting worn down by standing in line for an hour; sensory overload, being in a sportsbook for the first time; and being so excited to actually be making a sports bet in Vegas, that they're not paying strict attention to what's coming out of their mouth. When the mouth goes on auto-pilot, that's when strange things get said.

You definitely should have played it off as if you were joking as soon as you realized what you did. She probably would have understood considering the perceived tension with this relationship and might have even found it funny. As far as what to do from here, it's pretty much in her court as to whether she'll forgive you or not. There's not much you can do.

Dude, I just thought of something. Offer to eat her out...the best oral she's ever had...and tell her she can fantasize/callout whatever name/person she wants. If you're lucky she'll cry "oh Stacy" as well and you can hook up what you've been wanting to hook up ever since you met the two of them.

If you're unlucky, she'll call your brother's/best friend's/dad's name and it'll kill your hard-on for the next month (okay, maybe year if dad). But you'll have your gf back.........

i don't know, but there should probably be tears involved in your apology if you really like this girl.

being called another girls name sucks, even if you know 100% the guy isn't cheating on you. just in normal conversation is bad enough from someone you're dating, i can't imagine being called another girls name while having sex.!

good luck.

The key here is pet names. I rarely call my girlfriends by their names. It always sweetie love honey baby beautiful whatever.

Alot safer....

Also nothing you can say or do is going to help here. She may get over it or she may not. Just pretend it never happened and if she brings it up just say you [censored] up and you're sorry and change the subject as quickly as you can. Something like "Im sorry beautiful you know I only love you, want to go shopping?"

funny

I called a girl by an ex-girlfriends name once

no sex for awhile resulted

You're in deep

She's going to make you feel misery and pain until you realize how she felt

Then, it should be all good

Keep your fingers crossed that the next time she gives you a BJ doesn't bring up those memories for her

Tell you girlfriend that you want to make it up to her and ask what you can do to really show her how much you care about [her]. If she says she doesn't know what you could do to make up for something THIS bad, tell her you've thought it through and want to make the ultimate gesture.

Tell her you're going to go over to Stacy's house and ask her to give you a [censored] and that just before you come you are going to scream "Oh, [girlfriend's name]".

Be sure to stress how much of a sacrifice this will be but that you feel you just have to do this to make things right.

For God's sake, man - do you think we call'em "babe" or "honey" as an expression of affection ?

NO ! We do this to avoid [censored] like this.

*

O.K. Seriously ?

Tell your GF you love her (I assume you do) and that as much as you are ashamed to admit it, what occured was just proof-positive that at this stage in your life the "little head" does alot of the thinking. Confess to having fantasies about everything from threesomes with two cheerleaders to a quickie with your neighbor's collie - you know, the one with that really nice ass.

Then look her in the eyes and say, "I fantasize about them - and I'm not sure there's any way for me to stop myself from doing so - but you are the only girl in the world I want to actually be with".

- If she has a particular sensitivity to the fact that, A: this girl is a friend of hers, and B: that this is someone you have actually been with, explain to her that you were absolutely certain you'd be receiving grief for having gotten trashed at [her] party and that is why Stacy's name was on the tip of your tongue (OK, do NOT use that particular phrase).

Toss in a "I should have known you'd be way too cool to get all jealous . . ."

Consider buying a muzzle so as to avoid ever having a repeat of this debacle.

- I'm assuming she's planning to give you your next [censored] sometime during this decade. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
