What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

I play at the lodge again tonight. These guys play a fair bit of poker, but really don't understand odds and proper play. I crack the game for a 51% ROI. I know I'll hear at least once, <font color="blue">"Three's have been running all night, he had to bet that." </font>

Anyone else have a favorite line to hear at the table?

I love it when somebody gets up on their chair and screams out,"HOW DO YA LIKE DEEZ NUTZ?" in my NL game. Its especially funny when that person only *thinks* he has the nuts. Only to have the nut flush on an unpaired board beaten by a straight flush. Now that was a laugh.

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

this is obvious, but its always fun when you have a fast played AA cracked by Q7. look over at the guy only to hear "suited", followed by a chorus of nods from the other players.

Saw this exact thing at the lodge, except the guy held 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. He hit his straight on the river and said, "I only played them because they were suited." Oh and he'd cold called my 5xBB raise preflop (NL tourney). S'okay, we've played together many times since

Even better is the "chorus of nods..."

Similar one in my weekly home game. Actually my Brother-In-Law said it, and still swears by it. He called an all-in bet pre-flop with 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]! Naturally, he spiked two 4's, and when questioned about his call he said :

"Small suited connectors - Better than a pair."

That's the weekly line now. I think he got that one from Vince Van PAtten.

How big were the stacks?
I won a nice $7-800 pot 2 weeks ago at the Borgata when I called the CO open raise to $12 (1-2 blinds). I made trip 7s, AA no good

Corollary to the threes line, the other night I heard a regular say, after a player picked up, "I'm taking the 1 seat. That seat is HOT!"

Heard these last weekend in a 3/6/12 game:

"I need to play in a bigger game, people will play any trash at this table"

On the river, "Does a full house beat a flush?"

After losing a showdown, "I knew exactly what you had"

"When I play high-cards, I lose. When I play low-cards, I lose. I don't know what else to play anymore!"

"This low-limit $hit (Hold 'Em game) aint poker...it's 2 card bingo! Hey floorman, put me on the 4-8 Omaha!"

2 friends sitting at the same table..."Hey Joe, you sat down 15 minutes ago, aren't you going to say hello?" Joe says, "Oh, Steve! Hi, how are you? I didn't recognize you...you've got chips in front of you!"

LMFAO @ that one!

\"Connected!\"

In a 20-40 game in East Chicago I watched a guy take down a big pot with trips. His hole cards were T9o and he'd cold-called preflop. Somebody gave him a hard time and he said, "They were connected!"

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

playing a NL game with friends, i had AA, and after many raises and reraise preflop, we got all in. he had JJ, and spiked his J on the flop. someone asked him how he couldn't put me on Aces, and he replied "well i did for a minute, and thought if he had AA then my JJ is as good as KK and i'm not folding KK."

it still cracks me up thinking about it.

I make TPTK on an all heart flop, I bet the whole way. As I am dragging the pot, the woman in the 10 seat says, "I only called the whole way because I knew you didn't have the Flush..."

After their check/call on the river, I love hearing "I knew he had the flush/straight/2pair/whatever, that's why I didn't bet".

After winning a decent pot with a double gutter draw that caught Mr "I had two aces and though I'd slow play them" off guard for multiple river bets.

"Well that sucked wookie!"

followed by another players Chewbaka "raaaawr"

2-4 Foxwoods game, very loose passive, sitting next to guy I had been talking to for a while and he clearly thinks he is the best player in the game. He open raises UTG gets called in about 27 places (like every raise did in this game), at the end of the hand shows down 10-3o and his hand is way no good, when I asked why he played the hand he said "I was trying to steal the blinds"

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

"I hate playing pocket aces, 'cause they never win"

(Heard someone bitching this while I was raising the pot with pocket aces. I won the pot.)

"I can't believe she beat me with trip deuces."

(What? You'd rather your Ace-crap offsuit be beat by trip kings?)

"You were lucky to make that flush on the river."

(I just love that one.)

"All I got was pocket crap."
or
"If I could figure out how to play 62o, I'd be a millionaire."

(Both me, in response to people being annoyed that I'm folding so many hands pf. Typically, when I utter the second of those two, it's followed by a flop of 662, and a hearty round of laughter over what a crappy player I am for folding my 62o. I very much enjoy what that laughter holds for my future.)

"When you raised me on the river, I realized you might have something."

(like my flop and turn raises didn't count. I'm glad they didn't.)

Anyone who has ever played at Artichoke Joes' 15-30 will know what I'm talking about.

funny thing is his jacks a little better than kings against aces.

Young player blurts out "F*CK!" when his flopped set gets flushed down the river.

Old Geezer: "You know why they call it poker, son?"
Young guy: "Why?"
Old Geezer: "Because f*ck was allready taken."

Another:

Player 1: "I'm so stuck I have to hit the bad beat just to get even."
Player 2: "At least you have outs."

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

My all time favorite was at a crap $2/$2 table in Hollywood FL. I 3-bet AQs preflop with 2 callers.

Flop comes Q-6-2. None my suit.
Turn is a 9.
I bet, he calls.
River is a 4, but it makes a flush possible.
I bet, he calls.

My TPTK is beat by his 6-2 two-pair (remember he called 3 bets preflop).

He looks at me and says, "You mean you didn't have the flush? How can you bet that on the river?"

My favorite: When first to act on the flop he goes, "I check raise"

Needless to say everyone folded to him!

From the movie "shade". Jamie Foxx needs a 2-out 9 on the river. To the woman dealer, "Baby you're a ten. But I need a nine!"

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

Recent home game, NL tournament. I limp in with QJ. Flop comes QJ7. I check, buddy bets T75. I check raise to T300. He calls.

Turn comes a 9, also putting two clubs on the board. I go all in. He calls. We both had about T1000, so we're basically both all in.

This a two liner actually. He says "I know you have the straight". Ok, then why'd you call? I table my cards, he sees my top two pair. He has A7s for bottom pair. However, he does have a flush draw, so I can't really argue with him calling, I don't agree that it was a good play, but its not a terrible play. Anyway, the funny thing is , before the dealer flips the river, he says " I have a lot of outs, I need any club (one would have boated me) or a 7.

I say, "or an Ace" at the same time the Ace of Spades falls on the River. And its side game action for me.

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

I heard these two this weekend. Both were uttered by different opponents, but both loose passive calling stations nonetheless. They both soon ran out of money (I wonder why??????).

Line 1: 72 is garbage, but if they're suited, you gotta play them! (What a novel idea! Play suited garbage! I'll have to play that from UTG!)

Line 2: Why would you raise with AK?!? AK isnt really a hand! (I almost fell out of my chair on this one!)

Ahh, some of the wonderful things you hear at the low limit tables!

Swordfish and I were playign a Prima 100 NL game and i was in a chatty mood.

I lost a small pot had a $88.00 stack and said after i lost the pot.

"That's okay is Daddy's trust fund money, I'm not worried"

Fish replys (with a $44.00 stack)" That's not much of a trust fund."

Bunky's reply, "It's twice as much as yours Strawberry shortstack!"

I made myself laugh on that one. I know swordfish spit out his drink on that line.

Re: I was a trip at the Borgata. Only I come up with these.

I get card dead in the middle of my session. A dealer i know sits down for my 6-12 game and deals me 4 hands in a row 24o. Literally 4 hands in a row.

I'm in the BB and say, "If you can deal me 1 card above a 7, I'll tip you two bucks right now." He pitches me 83o and I fold my BB face up to a LP raise. I splash him the 2 bucks, He literally breaks out in laughter.

A little while Later I'm STILL card dead. I say
"OKAY, it worked last time! If you can deal me any two cards above a TEN, I'll tip you 2 bucks." I'm UTG he pitches me K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I open raise to 12 and push him the 2 bucks even before UTG +1 acts.

Classic Bunky stuff there.

Sounds a lot like the games at the Isle...

I flop a flush holding K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] . Lady bets, I call. Lady bets the turn, I raise, she reraises, I call. Lady bets the river, I call....She turns over two pair (caught on the turn). When I show my K-High flush, she says "well, it's good to know he'll raise without having the nuts!" !!!

The Isle at Lake Charles a regular who trys very hard to play well but never catches on goes bust yet again.
He gets up slams his chair down and says.... "F*ck this place, I ain't never coming back". An old geezer who plays pretty well while stacking chips, says.... "See ya tomorrow". Play at the table stopped because everyone was laughing so hard.
