One too many donk bets (3/6)
This feels like it's been happening a lot lately.
BB: 56/10 over 56 hands No read on what he's donking with Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls. BB has a 5. Most of the time when someone donks they do.

Re: One too many donk bets (3/6)
I like it, and I also bet the turn with that being my last bet going into the pot UI.

Re: One too many donk bets (3/6)
how about waiting until the turn to raise, calling down on a K or J?
|
Re: One too many donk bets (3/6)
Don't you think a guy with 56% vpip will also see a SD?
|
Re: One too many donk bets (3/6)
Not necessarily. And even if he does, it's not necessarily with a good hand. I've ran into a lot of donks recently, and I've seen as bad 9 high go to showdown after double donking.

[/ QUOTE ] because it costs me an extra SB when I'm behind and gives him the chancce to suck out on the river for 1 SB less. |
Re: One too many donk bets (3/6)
How about call flop/raise turn?

How about call flop/raise turn? [/ QUOTE ] Because he will 3-bet an A, call down a 5/PP, and fold his air. |
Re: One too many donk bets (3/6)
Scott,
If he threebets you can safely fold imo and OP feels he is bluffing too often. I either take the stance that i will call him down or make it expensive for him to do it, if i raise the turn i am putting on more money in the pot. I'm not sure either line is better than OP's, just throwing out suggestings about ways to deal with such a player. Also if Op plans to stay at the table for a while and shows down K high played this way it will do wonders for him vs this player. I'd be interested in your comments on what i have suggested. |

If he threebets you can safely fold imo [/ QUOTE ] Yea sure you can - but you just invested 2BB's to be able to figure out if you can fold. By raising the turn, we basically get him to fold a bluff (bad) or pay 2-bets to figure out he has an A and then fold (bad) or pay 2-bets to have him call us down with a 5 or PP (bad). Raising the flop instead allows us to accomplish what we want at much less of a cost. |

He folded the flop. I win
