Fold.

Re: folding QQ preflop?

i have never made a fold like this before. but i couldnt put him on anything and it was a big raise not just a dinky little one. i dont want sarcastic responses about folding AA preflop etc. i just thought it made sense. i not sure if your being sarcastic or not.

Im not saying fold is incorrect, but if this thread isnt an indication about how you should be playing this game, then you need to get smarter.

Why are you so often unnecessarily cryptic?

Re: folding QQ preflop?

i think he is referring to the fact that i didnt say it was full handed instead of sh... actually strassa you are right, that is obviously pertinent info. but dont consider it a matter of how i think of the game... i forgot to include it, i dont post a whole lot. sorry about that. unless you were saying something else...

cryptic? I thought he was pretty clear.

Re: folding QQ preflop?

I translated Jason’s comment as “Your thought processes on this hand should be weighing the merits of fold vs. call, with a bias toward fold. And if they are not, then you need to get smarter if you want to be successful in the 10-20 game”

I was more leaning towards the fact that in this game you should be reraising preflop a lot.

That's how I interpreted it. But I think the diverse exegetical approaches employed by posters here affirms my charge of crypticness.

why don't you guys call and take a flop? We could be up against AK here a lot of the time

Problem is if your opponents range is AA KK AK, its gonna be really hard to play against him OOP.

PS: People dont reraise here with AK as often as you think.

I'm coming from Low-Mid stakes, where ppl still go nuts with AK, so that was my line of thinking with that. Could we just call and check/fold a non Q flop? I'm also beginning to realize the importance of position with situations like this

Re: folding QQ preflop?

my default play here with these stacks is fold. You basically have to call 10% of what you could win.

Basically, if i'm much better than raiser i may call. If i know ill stack him if i hit and he has big pair, yet also not get pushed off my hand by his slick if he misses, then i may give it a whirl. If he's very good, i'll fold even if its a bit deeper.
