Are you a nit? (lc)

Re: Are you a nit?
I am not. Doesn't mean I will sit in a bad game (although I will).

Re: Are you a nit?
I may be too - at least that's what I get in the chat boxes a lot. I don't quite understand it b/c I have the same VPIP, WTSD, and W$@SD %s as the people telling me I'm a nit.
Some people seem to think that folding pocket tens on a flop of AQ7 with heavy betting qualifies you as a nit - I like to think of it as not being retarded and chucking money in the tiolet. But that's just me. |

Re: Are you a nit?
I personally think being a nit as Daniel describes is quite the character flaw.

Re: Are you a nit?
I think not putting "low content" in the thread title was a mistake.

Re: Are you a nit?
Are you sure?
I have to be honest with myself, I'm becoming more and more cynical in my pokerplay. Ever since I read the "Advise from a MHNL" (I don't remember what # it was, think it was 2) I have tried my best to hunt donks, get position on them, and isolate them. I think only of EV and never do anything at the table that's not to my own benefit. The exception is when I stay in a game playing HU versus a winning player, but I do that because I love the challenge and I want to intimidate him for future occasions. I don't think it is as bad as Negreanu puts it, but I felt the article hit my attitude towards the game |

Re: Are you a nit? (lc)
Not much wrong beeing a nit (in the way Daniel talks about it) at Internet poker unless you are playing HU (or maybe 3-handed) for high stakes imo.
And I guess I am a nit, at least trying to be one to maximize the EV. |
Re: Are you a nit? (lc)
Yes. I won't stay in a HU match unless my opponent has a reasonable stack. But it's a little different in lower-limit HU situations where the rake is a bigger factor.

Re: Are you a nit? (lc)
Anyone know who he's talking about when he says
[ QUOTE ] Over at www.fullcontactpoker.com I recently sat down in a $500-$1000 game with one of these young internet pros. The first time I sat with $20,000 and when I got short stacked he sat out not wanting to play against a short stack. That session lasted all of 8 minutes, and then the next day I bought in for $30,000. Once again, in about 10 minutes or so I was down to $8000 in front of me and the nit sat out once again asking me to rebuy. [/ QUOTE ] Was this prahlad? Has anyone watched these games? I dont recall seeing prahlad refuse to play a short stack on UB, but I'm not the railbird that some of you are Also I find it interesting that DN admits he's probably not a favorite in the matchup.
