I had a 10-20 session like that once. It was surreal how fast you can lose so many hands. I dropped back down after that day and made about 700 back at 5-10.

I really haven't felt on my game for the past few days and I think it's shown in my big losses. I dont know what is wrong with me. I can't seem to make ANY right decisions. Every bluff runs into a made hand and I keep getting owned. My calldowns with ace high are always wrong.

Yeah, me too. Last weekend in fact. I agreed to play a guy heads up and lost $1k in the first half hour or so and quit. It was rough. The guy was a much better HU player than I expected from how he was playing at our fuller (maybe four or five handed) table.

Re: My 150BB downswing just got a lot worse

It certainly seems like a good run is much less profitable than a bad run is detrimental. I started with $125 on July 1 and played mostly $5 sng's that month. I ended the month at approx $275. Played more $1/2 limit in August, finished that month at approx $475. Moved up to $3/6 limit and ended that month at $650. I wasn't figuring out how many hands I played back then, but calculated hours, which averaged approx 25 per month. During my first 4 days of October, I dropped all the way back down to $150. Everything I could do wrong, I did. Every bad break that could happen, also did. I guess tilt got me, which might explain why we can lose so quickly, but never seem to win at that same accelerated rate. Anyway, now I'm back up to $300, but I took some of the 2+2er's suggestions and am now playing .50/1 limit. I hope your luck turns around soon.

Kurosh, Thats crazy VPIP and PFR lol. Is this your standard game then?

It's kind of crazy to see such high VPIP but you play 10/20 and i play 1/2 and 2/4 so i've never experience those stakes.

If i saw you at the table id think "wow time to isolate"(yeh i'd get screwed LOL). I guess that high VPIP is standard amounst opponents or what?

You must go through some crazy varience. Think ill go take a look at the 10/20 game and see whats happerning.

Would be cool if you can explain why such a high vpip etc, is it pretty standard to be a "lag" in those higher stake games?

if kurosh is not playing HU or 3 handed then his VPIP is way to high.

ive played with him and that VPIP look about to be how he plays. too loose, too agressive giving too much action. its a high variance style and if he can make good reads it can be profitable but the cost is the variance associated with that set of decisions.

Re: My 150BB downswing just got a lot worse

Ah yeah 3handed would make sense. Yeah must be crazy varience, i don't think i could handle it lol.

I've just played 83VPIP guy, he scooped alot of pots VS tags when he bet(was running hot) and they folded due to lack of odds and what not. I guess this is where being a LAG may pay off.

Id like to see kurosh's full stats filtered to 4-6players though.

kurosh 12-19-2005 06:25 PM

Re: My 150BB downswing just got a lot worse

I don't think I'm that big of a LAG.

Filtered for 4-6 players over my past 20k hands, I am 34/22.5.
4 players - 41/28
5 players - 30/20
6 players - 25.5/15.5

Those stats are mostly from HU/3handed. I've never had much variance. I can remember one 300BB downswing and two or three 200BB downswings. My winrate has always been around or above 2BB/100.

I loosen up a ton when we get 4-handed because people tend to steal blinds more. I defend my BB very liberally and I steal a ton too. I'm very aggressive at times so I think my image lets me get paid off on good hands.

Re: My 150BB downswing just got a lot worse

kurosh has an "i never fold image"

I play pretty tight, and you've made some very very thin A high calldowns against me. It establishes a good image, but you might be doing it too often. Then again, I'm getting killed in these games, and it sounds like you're doing alright.

Pulled out of my downswing today with this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...h/12202005.jpg
Don't pay any attention to my VPIP and such, it's a range from HU to 6-handed.
