Quick Check-up
Full table
EMP (40/10/1.5) limps. I limp in the hijack with JsTs. CO poster (58/10/.7) checks, blinds come along Flop: T53r EMP bets, I raise, fish calls 2, EMP calls Turn: 7, completing rainbow EMP bets again. Gimme a line. |
Re: Quick Check-up
You raise and go from there, depending on the river a free showdown may be in order.

Re: Quick Check-up
Pretty easy raise in my opinion. 40/10/1.5 could have lots and lots of hands you beat and few you don't. The donkdonk seems so popular when they have a crappy pair since they seem to think you're always raising for a free card.

Re: Quick Check-up
raise preflop. you have too much of a hand to let a 40/10 get away with limping early and it's folded to you. given c/o is a fish makes it even better not worse. let him come along with any two, your hand is an equity hog against him and 40's junk starters.
that said, you played it fine and need to raise the turn. |

i raise this every time and i aint taking no free SD. [/ QUOTE ] I'm betting most rivers but I not a 7, or maybe not an Ace, however we have to raise first and see what happens. I think we are looking at 76 here, maybe A5, A7 often enough to make those river cards crappy. |
Re: Quick Check-up
interesting. i put utg on T9o.

Re: Quick Check-up
raise pf

Re: Quick Check-up
i like a raise preflop here. gives you a few scary flop cards to root for, basically any paint... let's you "take control of the hand" yaddy yadda
as you played it, is there any reason to not raise turn? maybe the better player he is, the less likely you should want to raise, becuase the chances go up that he is trying to bet/3 bet you, but if you have little respect for the bettor, i'd raise every time |
Re: Quick Check-up
If you don't raise pf, the blinds will come along, and CO gets a free play, and button may come along too. You gotta raise preflop to push out CO holding 53... At the turn, I think you have to raise to isolate, and also I would not want to put any more chips in the pot.

Re: Quick Check-up
raise the turn.
without the co poster i think this is an easy raise, but i think limping with the poster behind is okay since its not that likely you'll gain position in the hand. |
Re: Quick Check-up
OK....I sorta figured I was raising the turn here, unless I was calling with the intent of showing aggression on the river. I was more concerned about coming up with plans for certain turn actions and river cards. What CO calls? What should I do with a 4 or 6 river? What about an 8 or a 9, which sizeably reduces the number of Tx hands I can beat from MP?
As far as preflop goes, I had my reasons. I can't imagine limping here is awful, considering the likely outcomes of my raise. If you really hate the limp, let me know why. |

However, there are many reason to limp and that was your preference. [ QUOTE ] What CO calls? What should I do with a 4 or 6 river? I bet an Ace, though, unlike I said earlier. I was just being a total pu$$ then. |
