What do you do with books after you read them?

I have a buncha books I've either already read, haven't read but won't read, or have already read and will never read again sitting around and taking up space. Do you people resell them on Amazon.com or something after you've read them or do you load up shelves and shelves with 'em?

I've got my copy of Atlas Shrugged here which cost me $40 and I'll never read again, but I can't seem to get myself to sell it. lol

i usually shelve hardbacks and non fiction, but just give paperbacks to the library or friends.

its not worth it to sell used books on amazon unless they are reference/textbooks. you don't get enough money for them.

I return them to the library. I have a great public library system where I live and using the hell out of it makes me feel better about paying taxes.

If it's something I'm not going to read again, it goes to Goodwill, and I take a deduction.

Keep them. They make me look smart, although I should be way smarter than I am if I had really read all of them (esp. the chess and p***r books.)

I give most paperbacks to goodwill. Hardcover fiction I trade in at half-price books. I keep most of my hardcover non-fiction.

if it was really good and I intend to read it again sometime, I put it on the bookshelf.

Do you live ina big city? Just trade them in at a used bookstore for either more books, or for cash, depending on the system. If you live in podunkville or something you can either donate them to the library or just sell the bundle on ebay, you get a discount on shipping when you mail books, so its not that bad (make the buyer pay it anyway tho)

I donate them to the public library down the street or give them to my friends or little cousins.

I love books. My dad has always had walls and walls of bookshelves, full of all kinds of books, and I guess that's where I got it from. Whether it's a hardcover or paperback I try to save it. I'm hoping one day to have a house big enough to house all these books, 'cause right now it's a bit crammed.

give them to friends. or if they were terrible, 'forget' them somewhere.

the ones i want to keep are often the ones i want my friends to read the most, so i keep very, very few

Hey thanks! But seriously, don't worry about it... I don't get props on about 9/10's of the things I post which means they almost all suck and fail, or people don't like giving props out! I just post this [censored] for my own amusement.
