i\'ll NEVER try blackjack online again!

i've read a few posts here and probably over a thousand posts over at bonuswhoring.com saying how easy it is to win money online playing blackjack.

i finally decided i'm ready to give it a go. i loaded up the blackjack strategy guide - so i know when to hit or stand. i was ALMOST about to deposit $200 but thank god, i practiced first with play money! after about an hour, i've lost close to $175 (play money) already! in poker playing the .50/1 table, i'd lose that much in about at least one week. while playing blackjack, i lost the same amount in 60 minutes.

i guess i'm sticking to poker this time...

It is easy, but the variance can be killer at times. When you get a big enough bankroll I suggest you try it.

If you can't stomach the swings of online blackjack, you should quit poker. Online blackjack bonuses are safer (and faster).

the ONLY way you can win at blackjack is by doubling your bet once you lose, thus never being in the negative! BULLETPROOF!

The only way to beat online blackjack is if you are clearing a bonus. Since you don't get a play money bonus, you were supposed to lose.

Do we really not want this guy's money in the poker marketplace? I know you're joking, but I'm afraid it might be construed as serious.

OP - do not play online blackjack unless you're clearing bonuses. Play poker, at least there if you improve your skills you have the possibility of winning long-term.

this isn't the first time i've heard about this. someone also told me that, although he has no proof, he suspects that practice mode is VERY different compared to playing using real money.

i don't know... i really want to do good at blackjack whoring because almost everyone says how easy it is. it's not that i'm scared of losing money. i'm just scared to lose it that quickly!

so should i give it another go but this time, playing with REAL money instead? i'm thinking "Yes" and start betting just $1...

I actually played around with the plausibility of this strategy. Even if you avoid that not-so-insignificant chance of busting out, your hourly winrate would still be pathetic compared to a poker one unless you were betting very large to begin with (and increasing your chances of going broke). Of course, if you had unlimited credit...

WTF, you lost $175? That doesn't sound right. Legitimate blackjack games have a variance of 0.

Think about it.

Why would they make the play money version HARDER to win?

I have heard many rumors of sites making the play money blackjack game EASIER to win -- putting more face cards in the deck or just simply rigging it -- to encourage you to play for real money. (Of course, this has never been substantiated.)

Making the play money game more difficult, though -- thereby discouraging people from playing normal blackjack -- would take a real braintrust.

Dude...In about 5 months I have won about $1500 clearing various BJ bonuses and my hourly rate is over 30 bucks doing this.

Just this month I did a well known monthly one for about $300 profit. I'm also the most risk averse person I know.......

it was practice, Homer. i was using play money and started with $5000 and then an hour later, saw my money down to $4870something! it was unreal! sure, it was play money but what if i was playing with REAL money? also, i was betting $5 because that was the minimum intercasino would let me play (again, using play money).

i got a little angry (i don't know at whom) and was shocked a little because i've NEVER lost that much money in that short a time.

but, since almost everyone is saying how ridiculously easy blackjack whoring is, i've decided i'm gonna give it one last try. i've already deposited $200 (real money this time) at Casino On Net and i got the 100% sticky bonus so now my money is $400. i'm gonna play NON-STOP - 6-8 hours straight - today and decide whether blackjack winning relies entirely on luck OR there is some way you can do to help you win more (like following the strategy guides).

Based on your posts, you still seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of this game, and I encourage you NOT to play it. Blackjack IS NOT a beatable game. The only reason why people can make money at it is because some casinos will give you a bonus, and you won't lose the entire bonus while playing out the wagering requirements (but you will lose some of it). Playing completely proper strategy in online blackjack will still leave the house with an edge of at least .5%, and possibly as much as 2 % depending on the rules. You seem to think that you can beat the game. You cannot. I strongly encourage you not to do this, I almost guarantee you will bust.

started with $400 ($200 sticky bonus) and it's now down to $347. it amazes me how i've correctly guessed 6 straight times what the dealer's cards are going to be (2 blackjacks and the rest over 19)! also, i've played close to an hour now and i've NEVER seen the dealer have a card BELOW 17!

lol, wth?

thanks for the concern, Mac.

i spent 4+ hours there yesterday morning and 6+ hours later that night. in total, i spent over 10+ hours researching this yesterday (gotta love my job!). let's say i've read 500 posts claiming this stuff is true, less than 20 of those are from ppl who busted out. so it's either the mods are deleting their messages or they're not posting that they lost or the house *IS* beatable!

whatever the case is, i have $347 left to find out...

You're up, not down. You only put in $200 and you got a $200 bonus. You're up $147. If you have played enough hands to clear the bonus, cash out now, and you made a profit of $147. Find another site. Rinse. Repeat.

You cannot beat blackjack without counting cards. Counting cards is worthless online because they shuffle after every hand. Therefore you cannot beat online blackjack.

You can make a profit, however, by taking their bonus money and quitting as soon as you clear the bonus. You have to play perfect basic strategy to keep the most bonus, and your chance of losing any of your actual buy-in (not the bonus) is quite small.

There's no reason for them to rig the game. Only bonus whores will quit after they clear the bonus. Most people will continue playing long after, until they lose the bonus and their buy-in.

now i'm down, err, up (?) to $318 (profit of $118).

originally deposited $200 at Casino On Net, got the 100% bonus so i actually started with $400. after almost 2 hours of playing, my money's now at $318.

now here's the part where i'm close to strangling myself - since i deposited via NETeller, under their terms & conditions, i have to wager my amount bonus 50x!

[ QUOTE ]

...funds Deposited by NETELLER may be Cashed Out only after an amount totaling no less than 50 times the Bonus amount has been wagered.

[/ QUOTE ]

so, since i got $200 bonus, i multiply that by 50 which means i have to play/wager at least $10000 so i can clear my $200 bonus (which has now dwindled to $118).

great. just great. :/ with my luck i'd probably cash out around 47 cents (after spending 167 months at Casino On Net i'm guessing)! i really really REALLY should've just stuck with poker bonus whoring...

now, my money's stuck there, i'm losing money (in a rather quick pace) and i'm committed to spending another half century there just trying to clear my bonus!

lesson learned.

No, it was not a sticky bonus at Casino On Net. You have to use a different strategy for sticky bonuses. I'd tell you the right strategy, but you'd faint.

Plenty of people post complaints after busting out. We don't delete those threads. There are just many more posts by people who have won money.

You are not certain to win. AA is not guaranteed to win every time, either, It is still a winning hand. It is still great to see that you were dealt AA.

HERE IS THE ANSWER: IF YOU PLAY BLACKJACK WHILE NOT CLEARING A BONUS, YOU ARE NOT A FAVORITE AND WILL LOSE MONEY IF YOU PLAY LONG ENOUGH. THIS IS NOT AN OPINION, BUT A FACT. IF YOU WANT TO CLEAR BONUSES, READ HOMER'S POST CALLED "BUILDING A BANKROLL FOR NEWBIES". THIS APPLIES TO YOU.

Re: i\'ll NEVER try blackjack online again!

Dude, here's the skinny:

1.) BlackJack is NOT beatable.
2.) It is only profitable when couple with a bonus that will negate the HA.
3.) Read the terms and conditions of EVERY site BEFORE you just jump in with dollar signs in your eyes.
4.) Do searches on "Cashable", "Sticky I", and "Sticky II" bonuses and make sure you understand what they are.

See this is why casino whoring will stay profitable for a while

to OP becoming a casino whore is not to difficult a task, I managed it and I know next to nothing about the artform. The nice fellows on this forum and others (props Homer) have written handy guides to picking the low hanging money fruit from the money tree that is online casinos, all you really need to be able to do is read and understand a blackjack strategy chart. A few hints, ALWAYS read the terms and conditions at least twice and learn what all the terms therin mean for you. Try to find the beginners whoring posts/guides to show you the easiest sites to profit on. READ a lot i can't stress this enough don't just think ooh free money i'll have some of that. That's when you get caught with unprofitable locked in bonuses. Again, READ.

Re: i\'ll NEVER try blackjack online again!

thanks to everyone who replied.

this is going to be my last update regarding my first try at blackjack whoring...

a little over 3 hours ago, i had around $350. for the first hour, i was playing 3 hands at a time and flat-betting $1 or $2 (depending on whether i was on a winning or losing streak). i wasn't winning a lot... but then again, i wasn't losing a lot either so i decided to step it up a notch and started betting $25.

at first i thought i was losing my mind. or maybe it was because i saw on ESPN that the Colts won again and i was angry. i knew betting $25 would be a pretty stupid thing to do. but this is gambling so wtf.

soon, i had over $415 which was AWESOME! i felt like i was really on a roll! but then, a strange thing happened... i started losing... a LOT! and before i knew it, i was down to $95. so i started flat-betting $1 or $2 again and made up my mind that if i made over $100, i'm gonna risk it all and bet $100. i'm gonna go "all-in." and, after a few minutes, i had over a hundred. so i bet $100... and prayed... and WON. bet $100 and won again!

now i was no longer upset. i had $300 and won two straight times. i decided ONE last thing - i'm gonna bet $100 again - for the LAST time - and win or lose, i'm getting the fu*k outta there because clearly, i'm not doing good at blackjack whoring.

so, for the last time, i bet another hundred dollars and in just over 6 minutes i had the same amount i started with earlier today. it's funny because i must've spent over 8 hours today playing blackjack. i started around 9 in the morning and it's now 9:50pm EST. i lost more than $300 in like 5 hours and won $300 in 6 minutes. it was a funny thing... when you're winning at least. it was an interesting 8 hours... punched a few holes in my wall and set a new record for myself for the most number of hours sitting in front of a computer in one day.

in the end, i don't think it was worth it. i've been playing poker online now for more than 4 months and i've NEVER lost even remotely close to $100 in just one day. i've WON over a hundred in a day but NEVER lost more than $50 i think ('cos i'd go back to the .5/1 table )

i'm going to cash out the original amount that i deposited, uninstall Casino On Net's software on my PC and then use the money to buy some plaster for my wall.
