Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
Hand 1: Seat 3 is solid, Seat 8 is a fish.
Hand 2: previously in the session I limp reraised with rolled 555. Seats 5 and 7 are both mediocre but thinking players. 7 Card Stud High ($20/$40), Ante $2, Bring-In $5 (converter) 3rd Street - (0.60 SB) Hero: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___completes___calls Seat 3: xx xx Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___raises___calls Seat 4: xx xx 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds Seat 6: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds Seat 7: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds Seat 8: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___calls___raises 4th Street - Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
I change nothing,
Hand 1 you've got to be drawing to a 2 out at best on 6th, nothing you can do about that. Hand 2 there isn't really a spot where you should be backing off, you have to try the river bluff. |
Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
On hand 1, I'm folding 3rd after the 2 re-raises. Getting raised by an over card while you're on a 3 flush doesn't seem like a good spot to me. Even if seat 8 is a fish, I'd be worried about rolled 7s. I'd fold and wait for an other hand.

Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
Betting out on 4th is the standard play with a four flush,so when you bet out on 5th,your deception is not too strong. This line propels you right into the 6th st.& river bets.I think I would have played it the same way, butI wonder what would have happened if you ad checked 4th?This may have been the more deceptive play, but I don't know whether it's a good play or not.

Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
In my opinion the way I played third street mandates a bet on fourth street, especially since I caught a good card.

Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
Yea,I'm not saying you played it wrong, because I think you played it right.

Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
I just now realized that you raised 3rd on this first hand. You're right .Not betting 4th is out of the question in this case.Jeez,it seems like I'm always misreading the problem on your hands.

[ QUOTE ] No reason to fear rolled 7s here. [/ QUOTE ] Why not? [/ QUOTE ] The guy is an idiot. And I was almost positive he would slowplay rolled up trips. It was pretty clear his most likely hand was a big pair in the hole, or even something like (A7)7. |
Results
Hand 1: Seat 3 bet the river and Seat 8 called. Seat 3 won with the heart flush and Seat 8 mucked pocket kings.
Hand 2: Villain folded the river and I won the pot with no showdown. Too bad no one found these hands interesting. I think it's because BeerMoney is too busy multi-tabling STT's and Jeffage is in Vegas. |
Re: Two 3-flush hands I didn\'t like
In Vegas as we speak (in a meeting right now so I'll keep this short).
Hand 1 Easy fold on 3rd when it comes back to you for two more. And I don't think it's close. Hand 2 Sure, looks good to me. BTW, the Hold Em games out here are phenomenal to the point of absurdity so I've played no stud thus far. I may check out 50-100 stud tonight, but not sure. It has a $10 ante btw (not 5 as reported previously) and it looked quite loose on observation. Be back posting more on Thursday but I'll have some access to Internet the next few days. Later. Jeff |
