HU TOURNAMENT LEADERBOARD SIDEBET THREAD

If you are interested in participating in a NCAA-leaderboard type competition, please reply to this thread and how much you are interested in playing for (it will probably be either $100 or $500).

The bracket can be found here

Click on "Predict it!" at the top of the page, and submit your entry (you have to register). We can work out the payment details later, since they are separate from the "Predict it!" engine.

Someone should also be nominated/volunteer to hold the money in escrow (I do not want to be the one to do it).

Someone please explain how an NCAA-leaderboard type competition works.

Re: HU TOURNAMENT LEADERBOARD SIDEBET THREAD

You just pick the winners for every match all the way through - but you do it all before the first match is played. Then each winning selection is assigned a point value - maybe 1st round is worth 1 point, 2nd 2 etc. Then at the end, the person who has the most points wins. It's really simple - hope this makes sense.

The reason that the later rounds get more points is because you had to get the previous rounds right in order to get the correct answer for the later rounds (obviously).

Ok, thanks. I pretty much figured that, was mainly interested in the scoring.

I'm definitely game for the 100-250 range. Maybe let's try to keep it reasonably priced so that it can have broader participation. If you really want to gamble a lot of money, you should have signed up to play.

durron597 12-09-2005 04:55 PM

Someone needs to be nominated to hold the money for this

I think bruiser would be a good choice since he's a trusted member of these forums and he's not playing in the tournament, and since I probably won't participate in the sidebet myself you probably don't want me to do it. But however you guys decide to do it I (obviously) recommend getting it started ASAP.

I'm in for 200. I think the buy-in needs to be the same for everybody for the pay-outs to be predictable, no?

Bettors,

FYI, HU is my worst NL game. I still pick me, though.

I'm in for however much you guys want. Winner take all or are we giving multiple prizes?

FoxwoodsFiend 12-09-2005 06:07 PM

IMPORTANT

Zeebo just dropped out. So we won't be making any picks until I get a replacement, which should be very soon.

I'd be up for anything as well. The bigger, the better

Matt Flynn 12-09-2005 06:16 PM

I will take Zeebo\'s place

Provided the first game is not this weekend and weekday games can be played between 8-11 EST. Weekend anything goes.

Just put me in if it works. I will pay Monday 12/12 prior to game one - let me know who to pay. I will be any from the internet until then.

Strassa you are mine.

well yeah buy-in has to be the same, but i was thinking we could run a 100 and a 500 pool separately

but a 200 sounds good to me

Dude - you do your picks within the software duron set up, that way no one else sees them. You guys need to work on your gambling.
