Edited together from many short clips.

Re: Super Mario 3: NES, Beat in 11 minutes
It's a sweet video, but he cheated. I remember reading he had done this with an emulator, and he would only save the game when he did a section as perfectly as it is possible to do it. So this is really just a compilation of different attempts (I think like 40000).
It's still awesome though. |

I might be patched together, but what he does on those combos of bomb jumping is simply INSANE!
|
Re: Super Mario 3: NES, Beat in 11 minutes
It is done on an emulator where the game is slowed to a crawl so that these moves are easy to pull off timing wise

Re: Super Mario 3: NES, Beat in 11 minutes
You just ruined the only good thing I had going for me today. I shall now not make my goal of 2k6 of not putting a bullet in my head...

Here's a good site, if you're into these: http://speeddemosarchive.com/gamelist/FullListt.html [/ QUOTE ] I can't get a single video to open? |
Re: Super Mario 3: NES, Beat in 11 minutes
Yeah, it's a pain to get them to run off the website, probably better off saving the file to your desktop, and running it from there.

He didn't cheat. He never even pretended to pass it off as real. He clearly stated that he was playing the game frame by frame. This is just a video of it in real time.

Re: Super Mario 3: NES, Beat in 11 minutes
In theory it is possible to do it.

[/ QUOTE ] This is true, there's a whole subculture devoted to what's called time attacks. This seems to be the main website for emulator assisted game videos. |
