New restrooms at Commerce
 

There are new Vegas style restrooms at commerce in the area near the NY Deli. These are really nice...even nicer than the ones at Bike.

Anyone want to set an over/under on how long it takes the scumbags at Commerce to make a mess of these things?

The Commerce bathrooms are disgusting. The worst thing I ever heard/saw in there was two guys shitting in stalls next to eachother and telling eachother bad beat stories while taking craps.

It sounded like this, "So I'm on the button with Ace Jack and *grunt* the flop comes JJQ and *grunt* *fart* so I bet..."

I wanted to stab my ears out.

I love a good restroom, some places make "dropping a deuce" a genuinely pleasant experience. Local notables are the mirage bathrooms by the poker room, and the wynn's roomy, yet understated stalls with the trough hand washing stations. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Give the freaks in LA LA land enough time and I wouldn't expect anything less than insanity.

If I hafta drop a duece at Commerce, I go upstairs and use the restroom next door to where they have the tournaments. It's quiet and the restrooms are much cleaner than downstairs because most of the scumbags don't know its there.

If I hafta drop a duece at Hollywood Park, I just hold it.

I'm constantly amazed when I run into a fellow player in the restroom, that is, a player who plays the same stakes I do (and who might even be in the particular game I'm currnetly in). Well less than half of them wash their hands after doing their business.

Recently I told a floorman that the restroom needed attention. He went in himself, came out and asked me what the problem was.

Yikes.

Clean, nice looking, no lingering odors, with an attendent and/or shoe shine man present. Of course, not all bathrooms in Vegas are "Vegas style."

I remember the first time I saw a guy bathing himself at the sink. It really shocked me, now I don't even notice it much anymore. There was a new one this week. At the restroom near the entrance of the Asian Games side, I saw a man literally washing his mouth out with soap. It was all foamy and he was using his hands to lather his mouth inside and out with the soap from the dispenser.

Wow, that is bizarre. Actually, I wasn't too pleased with the bathrooms at Commerce or Bike when I visited, and it kinda felt like there was a high probability of getting mugged in both bathrooms. Maybe I didn't go to the right ones. Commerce does have good bathrooms on the high side near that this glassed in smoking room...fewer people in there and much cleaner.

Hi Jeff,

No, you are correct, that is probably the only restroom that is normally clean and quiet, with the least chance of getting jacked. However, what sternroolz is describing is the one on the opposite side near the low-limit games, which just got a complete remodel. It is spectacular! However, the same players will go there and will continue to bathe there after a 48 hour session.

Clean, flowers, automatic faucets, urinals, and towel dispensers...and like the earlier poster said clean smell, nice, attendant, lack of stains, etc. Kinda like what you would find at a higher end Vegas hotel like Mandalay Bay or Monte Carlo. Oh yeah, completely enclosed, roomy stalls with actual doors. Each stall is actually sectioned off, not just a piece of wood between each stall. Really, the are nice. But the environment at Commerce is one that contains much human wreckage so I hold little hope that they will remain nice. The ones at Bicycle are nice also, and there is an attendant in each one, and they are rapidly showing age due to the people that inhabit Bike.

In hundreds of trips to Commerce I think I used that bathroom one time - that was plenty.

I would also just like to add that the pastrami on rye at the NY Deli is surprisingly good.

Agree. Now if there were video poker terminals at the urinals, I think that would be Vegas style.

I do like the new bathrooms over on the far end of the casino. If you're playing 9/18, it's easier to get to them than the ones you have to fight through the 4/8 hell of downtown NYC to get to; and like sternroolz said they are clean and luxurious for the moment.

But I'm one of the players who doesn't feel the need to scour my hands every time I urinate. If I don't pee on my hands, what's the point? My hands get much filthier after I touch the chips than after I go the bathroom, so using Andy's logic I should really be washing my hands BEFORE I do my "business."

i do it every time regardless, but if you are going commando and u can unzip, pee, and rezip without even actually touching it, is there really a need to wash provided that u use the tip of ur pinky to flush and open the door?

Last time I was at commmerce, there was this Big guy named Anthony who kept asking for a setup every time he wanted to smoke a ciggerette. So I run to the bathroom really quick and on the way out I wash my hands.

I get back and a guy at the table says "that was fast, did you wash your hands?" I said yes and he asked me "so what color was the soap?" He was shocked when I told him "white" which it was. I guess that was the bathroom they remodled. Good thing since last time I was there one of the urinals was overflowing the whole week.

Shrug. I wash my hands after using the Commerce restroom because I like getting the green/black felt residue out from under my fingernails. But if it weren't for that (and the societal pressure reasons I mentioned in OOT long ago), I wouldn't wash my hands after making a tinkle.

But since I do wash, I do it, "like a surgeon," sayeth Jeff. I dunno, though. I've only scrubbed all the way to my elbows twice.

While those restrooms are nice, they're located in L.A., where the art of "aiming" and "hygiene" don't even register. I swear, when the restroom at a "Borders" has customers who don't bother to lift a toilet seat before urinating over the whole assembly..... a casino restroom hasn't got a snowball's chance of staying nice.

There are some things that I just find hilarious. One is when grown men on this forum resort to calling other posters "newbies" because 1) they are losing their argument and need to change the subject, or 2) they are insecure and need to resort to dick wagging to bolster their image.

Dude, I could give a f-ck how many thousands of posts you have. The fact is you've been exposed as someone whose hygiene standards pale in comparison to those of my 8 year old nephew.
