Week 13 FF Bitch/Brag +Playoffs
 

Brag: Palmer as usual. Picked up Ricky Williams off waivers and he did the job. Baltimore D off waivers was another wonderful pickup. Terry Glenn finally did something. I held on to the high point total for the season again (worth 10% of prize pool in our league).

Bitch: Rackers, I miss you. I left Mike Anderson on the bench to start Ricky and Thomas Jones. Does Orton realize he doesn't have to throw it every time inside the five? My opponent this week may set the league record for fewest points in a week.

Playoff situation: It's close. One week to go , and a win next week means I'm in for sure. A loss and I don't know.

Clinched the top seed for the playoffs this week in one league. Took a 2.5 game lead in a league with no playoffs, which means I only need to win 2 out of the next 4 weeks to finish in first place. And remained the #1 seed in my third league with the playoffs a week away. At this point I wish my fourth league didn't disolve after week 3 or I would be on track to win all 4 of my leagues.

Does anyone think I should send flowers to Priest Holmes? He is going to win me a lot of money this year.

Brag: Clinched the playoffs (pending Brian Westbrook basically showing up to the game tonight), gained confidence in Big Ben even tho I benched him in favor of Brunell, reaffirmed why I drafted Hines Ward, same can be said about the Bears D (got them in the last round), listening to the advice of this forum by starting Jimmy Smith over Deion Branch & Donald Driver, and finally having a TE in Cooley that shows up every week, with potential for a nice line.

Whine: Mark Brunell, I shouldn't expect much from you in the first place, but please prove to me I can rely on you come playoff time. Tiki Barber, you're racking up the yards, but I think it's about time you poison Jacobs' gatorade bottle, freakin' vultures, and finally I can whine every week about drafting Culpepper in the first round...I'll have more to brag/whine about after tonight's game.

I lost intentionally this week to get a better playoff matchup next week. I'll play a guy who was initially great, but who's lost 4 straight because he had both Owens and Holmes.

Brag: Lee Evans good for 25 points out of nowhere. Steve Smith and Edge combine for 23. My team scores the most points total by less than 2 points over the second guy.

Bitch: Despite leading the league in points, I missed the playoffs (I was eliminated last week). Gotta love that BS.

Bitch: Um. Well Stokeley has been non-existent all year, and Witten only had 6 yards. Other than that, I don't have much to bitch about. Second place out of 14 going into the playoffs and I haven't been able to look/change my team in 5 weeks.

Bitch:For the hundreath time, leagues with team defenses instead of individuals are stupid. I lose by 1 point this week, and give up my #1 seed for the post-season because my opponent has the Chicago defense, and not much more.

Once again I'm screwed by Brett Favre. If he just turns the ball over 3 times, with 1 TD, I win. but he had to turn the ball over 4 times.

brag: Julius Jones finally gives me a solid game, despite the fact that he can't average 4 yards/rush or get 100 rushing yards in a game to save his life. Boldin and the Bucs defense giving me solid games, helping me clinch a spot in the playoffs.

hoping for: Darrel Jackson to finally return in week 14. I've been holding onto him the whole time.

Update - Thanks to the "great" performance by the Eagles offense last night, I won my game and will make the playoffs with a win this coming weekend.

News: Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, the fourth Pro Bowl player the Eagles have lost for the season in the last month. Westbrook injured his foot in the first half of Monday night's 42-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. An MRI MRI exam Tuesday confirmed Westbrook has a Lis Franc injury.

SUPER! I could whine now but instead must start thinking of how I'm gonna dig myself out of this hole. My league requires 2 starting RBs. With Westbrook done, I'm left with Tiki Barber, J.J. Arrington, and Antowain Smith. Is this Ryan Moats dude worth picking up? How about Michael Bennett? Trading period is over, so I'm stuck with this and whatever FA's may be out there (basically nobody). If you had to predict one big name RB to go down this or next week, who would it be so I can pick up his backup.

Bennett is a good option, though unreliable. He'll give you some o-fers. I'd consider Adrian Peterson in Chicago - Jones has been of dodgy health all year and I think they may rest him a bit if they clinch the division.

Great advice. Do you think any other teams in particular might start sitting their studs yet? It's only Week 14, but playoffs in my league don't start til Week 15, so I got some hope...god I can't believe I lost Westbrook. Would it be stupid to pick up Brandon Jacobs and start him and Tiki Barber (he's always stealing TDs)?

I got Westbrook in the third round, but as previously stated, lost Culpepper after drafting him in the first round. This is a devastating injury for me though considering the point in the season it occured. Wish I woulda held onto Cadillac Williams instead of trading him away after his poor performances up til a few weeks ago. Dammit man...

You might also try looking at whoever backs up Edge in Indy. Im sure even if they are 15-0 that they will be rolling up Arizona in Week 16 and be able to rest the starters plenty.
