I have blind issues

Villain is 19/9/5.5 over 96 hands.

Is this kosher?

Re: I have blind issues

Lead the flop. It makes your turn decision a lot easier.

Re: I have blind issues

Even though he's hugely aggressive and I know he'll continuation bet?

The problem is that this is a board that easily could have hit him and hit him harder than you, and it'll be really difficult to play the turn if you just chek/call here.

Re: I have blind issues

Ok, so I lead and fold to a raise?

PoBoy321 12-05-2005 02:58 AM

Re: I have blind issues

That's my usual line. The only hand you're ahead of on the flop is AK and JJ, and your hand is very vulnerable, so you don't want to be left to any really hard decisions.

That looks alright as long as you can fold to a raise on the end.

ugh, getting like 6:1, I suppose you have to make the crying call, but don't expect to be $120 richer when the hand's over.

Re: I have blind issues

Im not folding. You see AA or AK here enough for the call.

Re: I have blind issues

I like how you explained your action on each street. A few quick comments without reading the other responses.

I don't like the pre-flop call. QT is one of those hands that can get in a lot of trouble post-flop, quick. It can't withstand a lot of pressure and is often outkicked by hands like QK, AQ, QJ, etc. I think the pre-flop call in marginal at best. Without position, I would toss that hand away. Of course, if you can hit the flop hard then you're hopefully going to take money from aggressive players who can't fold.

I would re-raise the flop. You got the contiuation bet, now let him know that he is behind. If he doesn't re-raise you on the flop, you can bet the turn and river. If he re-pops you on the flop you can let the hand go.

Re: I have blind issues

I think Villian's hand range is wider than that. He could be holding a lot of stuff we're ahead of, like a medium PP like 77-TT.

Re: I have blind issues

I love people who min raise with the nuts. What a dumb way to play poker.

Results:
Hero has Ts Qs (three of a kind, queens).
UTG has Qh Ac (three of a kind, queens).
Outcome: UTG wins $140.

Stupid Ace.

PoBoy - dead on.

scapperdog - generally I agree, but less so against this opponent.

waxie - tx. I think against this guy, unless I hit the flop way harder than this against an UTG raise, I'm gone.

I think my blocker was less than I normally make. If I'm going to block, I should block $30 and fold to any raise.

Lesson learned. I hate it when people have exactly what they're representing

Folding to a raise sucks given the weak bets Hero has been making. 1/2 pot on the turn and 1/3 pot on the river and you plan to fold to a raise from a person with a post-flop aggression rating of 5.5?
